MONKEY! Brilliant. We all used to run around the playground at school beating the shit out of each other, pretending to be in the show.

There are some songs, some movies and some TV series that should never ever be repeated! This is one of them! My favourite all time childhood show! Lol, Monkey, lived for fighting haha, polar opposites, to Tripitaka lol

The days when kids didnt need a trigger warning for violence and nasty behaviour. But now with it more violence than ever......shows it is not the root.

I always remember watching this as a kid, i would be in the program with monkey himself helping him fight all the baddies. Back in the real world i would have to go to bed when it finished, that was the rule in the childrens home just to keep us all quiet. Hated the time but loved watching monkey.

Given this was my childhood, it does the heart good knowing Monkey remains in good hands and we're still getting great entertainment from this legend.

After a spiritual awakening I have realised after that opening, that monkey is the ego. "I love to fight!" A perfect motto for the ego. And Tripitaka represents the soul. Calming monkey and having to bring him into captivity when he gets really out of control! Haha, very deep for a kids show!

This show was so awesome when I was kid, was on a Sunday afternoon, and you had to watch it to talk about it on Monday at school. Good times. I would love to watch this in Spanish though!

I watched this as a kid in Australia back in the 80’s on the ABC channel. I always looked forward to watching not only this but also The Goodies, Dr Who and Inspector Gadget. Fun times. Also watching Monkey’s cloud having machine guns was epic.

Bit of a sad note, Masako Natsume who played Trippitaka ended up passing away from an aggressive cancer about a year after the series was finished. Broke my heart when I found that out 😢
