@@nostrislife this xing is a no horn zone. My area got a lot of them. Looking at comments across platforms, folks are unaware of no horn zones.

My area has no horn zones. based on the number of comments I get across platforms, quiet zones must not be a thing in ya'll cities. If I find a crossing with a horn, that would be a miracle.

In my area they do but the horn salute is a different sequence so you can tell when they’re honking at you vs the crossing

@@Donthecon1 Oh. This isn't about railfanning. Shawn has constantly harassed the UP crew. he's had the cops sent to his house on several occasions and presumably got arrested after New Years for his harassment. He deleted his videos before the summer. I did cover some of his videos on my channel. Shawn has quite the rap sheet tho Your comment confused me at first since the video was about Shawn supposedly being sued by the Union Pacific for his harassment. They sued him before but the charges were dropped.

@Cnw8701 i rarely spot SD40s (I haven't been Railfanning long) nice to see CSX still runs SD40s

SD40s are mostly used on locals and yard jobs nowadays for all the Class 1 railroads that still have them. Very rarely do they ever use them for mainline manifest service (especially leading).

@AaliyahHolt I doubt it in this circumstance. Trains don't stop on crossings if they can help it. We have a little map in our cab that tells us exactly where the end of the train is in relation to us and we know if we're blocking crossings or not.

@@norfolksouthernrailworks1543 So the conductor/engineer can see If they're rear end is blocking a crossing. I thought they couldn't for some reason. So that's how you know what the signal says before you pass it, it will be on the map?

Do you live by a busy subdivision by any chance?

sometimes if the train is long enough, that will happen when they have to stop.
