It's one of the only places you can die just by jumping for too long. It's a failsafe in the code to prevent players from getting stuck in gravity loops.

its works because the axe aoe doesnt go away after the knife has been thrown so, instead it stays on there for a while, even being stunned, thats why it does alot of damage when mobs are very close to it.
