That’s crazy! Never imagined it was that way. I’d your paying full price why does it matter.

Mid watches. Are they nice? Very! Are they worth licking boots? Not a chance. So many other brands that don't play games.

Isn't this what Rolex's rivals do too? And any other very high-price consumer goods sales teams?

Cool video series. I bought my Sub in 2018, Etihad Towers location in Abu Dhabi. I was celebrating a professional achievement. I waited about 4 months to get it. I like the Sub because it looks like million other watches to the general public. Now and then someone with a good eye will comment “nice watch”. But it’s a generally understated piece. No regrets.

Thanks for the videos, its very interesting to hear about this stuff. I will probably never get to buy a rolex, but my dream watch is the bluesy submariner! One question though, i really appreciate knowing how the innards of a watch work, if you work at one of these stores, do you ever get to work on them? It sounds like you just send them to the manufacturer and they mail it back; if thats the case, how & where do you go to work on watches?
@hawaiihardy7285Сағат бұрын
Unfortunately, we never got to work on the movements, everything was sent to Rolex for service and repair.
@bjornwimmer44392 сағат бұрын
This is exactly why Ill never own a real rolex. Replicas are 99% for a fraction of the price and none of these bs games lol Would rather buy genuine luxury watches from other brands without these games

I got told to get a Rolex OP. It would take seven years. Because I’m interesting getting one for my 30th birthday in five years.

7 years seems way too long for an OP. Good luck

Our local AD here in Texas recently told me that you have to pay cash for a new Rolex. They do not take credit cards. Is that true?
@hawaiihardy728516 сағат бұрын
Absolutely not true, that sounds crazy. They are up to no good . Stay away .
@mr.l3785Сағат бұрын
As salesperson at Thomas Markle Jewelers, a Rolex AD in Texas, told me the same thing. The salesperson told me they tell prospective customers they have to buy the watch with a wire transfer or cash as a way to filter out flippers as most of them use credit cards. They do take credit cards however.
@tex248 минут бұрын
@@mr.l3785 So what should I tell my AD if they tell me to wire the money or pay cash?
@user-cs4ri1cn4c20 сағат бұрын
My ex has a really nice Rolex replica. It looks right. But she stopped wearing it because people were always asking her if it was real. She didn't like the way that wearing it opened her up to that kind of personal examination. Truth is that the games played by ADs are just as objectionable as having authenticity questioned all the time. 'Is that a fake'? You can buy horology better than Rolex for less money from dealers who are just there to sell you straight goods without the BS you get from ADs. Rolex makes beautiful watches but everything else is smoke and mirrors.

What if they offer you a watch that you don’t want and you don’t take it. Will you still be considered or will you not be considered for future watches?
@hawaiihardy7285Күн бұрын
You may still be considered for future watches, but they really don’t like it if you say No and some AD’s may not give you another chance. It’s always best to tell them right away what you want and that only want that specific model . Good luck

In 1969 I bought a Rolex Oyster perpetual from a jewellers in Germany. After wearing it for a couple of years I started to wonder what all the fuss was about. Despite a certificate of timekeeping that it's average gain/loss was +11 secs, it never achieved that claim on my wrist; 20 secs gain every day was average, and I'd owned Ingersoll cheapos that could do better than that. The bracelet gave up the ghost after 5 years; just fell apart. Disillusioned ,I took it to Austin Kaye in the Strand and they took it in exchange for a new quartz Timex that kept time to an accuracy of 1+ second a day. Best decision I ever made.
