@@operafairy I believe that over time you will learn to distinguish screeching from singing. At the same time, you are more ignorant than deaf.
@operafairy

@@purisermonisamator I've listened to him in person in Met's Idomeneo recently so it's obviously only you're deaf here if you pathetically proclaim persons who don't share you ''well-reasoned conclusion''' as ignorant. Gosh, you will not change even in million years with such blindness conceit. Or in your opinion bel canto singing means tenorino singing? Then JDF videos is your content. What are you doing here?
@purisermonisamator
@purisermonisamator Жыл бұрын
@@operafairy So, what am I doing here? At the moment, I am reading your comment and enjoying your aplomb, your self-confidence, your rudeness and your stupidity. Did you listen to our friend at the Met? I'm glad for you, but so much the worse for the Met. I would like to hope that he sang better in "Idomeneo" than here, but I will not take your word for it, since I have already been convinced of the imperfection of your judgment. Does your outlook end at JDF? I immediately realized that you are an ignoramus. Try to listen to such tenors as de Lucia, Bonci, Albani, Anselmi, McCormack, Smirnov, Schipа, Fleta, Lazaro, Pertile, Gigli, Lauri-Volpi, Merli - and then you will be able to cultivate good taste in yourself, stop getting drunk on slop, as our Chekhov said and stop calling pig squeal Bel Canto.
@operafairy
@operafairy Жыл бұрын
@@purisermonisamator Gosh, you're even more pretentiously silly that I even imagine. OMG, as all donkeys you've managed to quote Chekhov beyond objective context. Here is a good quote specially for you '' our virtues are hidden vices''. Don't try so hard to hide your stupidity, it becoming even more evident. Or is it just very bad trolling? Are you real? I thought trolls of such size died out. Mentally health person just can't have so many silly pathos. It's only you here without any argument just appealing to these well known list of old singers proclaim all this crap which has nothing to do with modern singing and modern singers whom all other users discuss in this topic. Obviously, you can't even read, if you can't see it. I've ironically mentioned Florez here and you can't even get it and BTW I offered you to give some analysis of this short badly filmed video which you've used as an object of your ''professional'' rating without any fact, just according to your deaf ear affected by old great recordings. I've listened not only to the recordings of all these singers but even much more as all modern top tenors, so I have quite wide experience and I can compare as an opera goer. It seems you can only sit before the computer and comment videos on KZbin. Try to figure out what is opera singing, what is bel canto, what is logic at least. Mentioning of this old tenors is ridiculous, you have to keep all this pathos for the videos with their singing or of their contemporaries. It's not a popular way of opera trolling anymore, you've late for few years. Try to get the modern version of this piece which is better than this rendition or just stop to make me laugh. Cheers.

It may be hard to tell here, but sadly Dina Merrill was beginning to show the signs of dementia around the time of this interview. By 2012/2013 she developed full blown lewy body dementia and by 2017 it took her life. Sadly two of her four children died before she did, leaving an estate worth over 5 billion dollars.

Your words put me in mind of what Pamela Colman Smith advised: “Keep an open mind to all things…When you see a lot of dirty people in a crowd, do not remember only the dirt, but the great spirit that is in them all, and the power they represent… a new blueness that speaks through all the hard crust of convention.” As an artist she is mostly remembered now as the illustrator of a deck of cards.
