@TatsuRabbit20 күн бұрын
@@DeoChomp It's the one with big cat, right? What is the deal with it? I've never played it. It's hard, or is it annoying?
@DeoChomp20 күн бұрын
@TatsuRabbit the lures you can get in the game are optional, quite out of the way and you are never told about them. When you go fishing without them on the later levels, the chance Froggy(the thing you have to catch each level) has a higher and higher chance of just getting away when you're trying to reel him in. Every level as Big the Cat you have to do this and you have to complete his story to get the final ending so this is mandatory. If you watch the Game Grumps play as him during the beach level you'd probably see what a lot of people experienced playing as the cat.
@TatsuRabbit20 күн бұрын
@@DeoChomp I see, so to get the true ending, you need so basically hunt down the secret lures, meaning that the fishing part it's more mandatory than it initially seem, I can see how some people that don't care that much about the fishing minigame could be bothered by this, that's unlucky...

I miss how 90s-00s gaming had such a vast range of creativity. I love the amount of risk they took on odd concepts in This Y2K era- the Dreamcast/PS2/360. It should show us that GRAPHICS are not the most important thing.. If you can create satisfying movement, gameplay mechanics, physics effects, responsive parts of a environment that makes you want to explore it, engage it, etc. That stuff is so much more important. Not: {"Who can make the largest game map? Or have the most reflections?"} I think Art style, design, vibe, aesthetic is much more important. You don't need top notch graphics to greatly appreciate and enjoy playing a game. That's why we are seeing such a resurgence of players who have gone back to playing older games because they realized the aspects of gaming that they care about and are unhappy with most modern games. So hopefully gaming will enter a new era. That mixes in aspects of the older era's. With our modern capabilities that will hopefully help make it easier to create a satisfying game (without it taking 8 years to build a broken game. Hopefully) Currently everything is trying to be like a Triple AAA game or a free to play online battle Royale game.. A lot of us miss when we had game selection similar to how the Dreamcast/GameCube/360/PS2 era had a mix of. As well alot of those games came with options for local multiplayer, split screen, LAN parties, or offline modes against bots or other diverse offline CPU game modes. Yet modern games are not only lacking those dynamic options that give games nearly endless replayability features... Modern games are lacking even meeting the most basic standards for game's... They don't seemed focused on the core of the games to be Fun. They over focus on "realism" Rather than adding in Artistic adaptations for the greater good of gaming as a whole.. We could be doing so much better yet people are just coming out with the most bland game design, braindead AI, less care for physics effects... We could be doing so much better than this..
@TatsuRabbit2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! That era of games was truly special, even the Dreamcast that died in only two years managed to have more memorable games than the PS5 currently have, and the PS5 is a success in sales 3 years in the market, it's a travesty. It was a generation that no matter what console you had, there was dozens of great titles to enjoy, because like you said, developers weren't afraid to innovate, even when faced with roadblocks, like a low budgets or under-powered consoles. Nowadays we have incredibly powerful consoles and overblown budgets and we get less games than ever, all in the pursuit of ultra realism, shallow eye candy that means very little when the game they're offering aren't fun. Luckily, like you said, some publishers seems to be investing in gaming preservation that in the long term will help tremendously. Castlevania for example, Konami constantly screw things over, but credit where credit is due, these compilations that they are doing are incredible, amazing games, all bundled up for a great price, I would never imagine seeing all 3 DS Castlevania games sold in a collection some years ago. I only hope that the new generation of gamers give those old games a chance to see how things were back in the day, this way maybe we'll see more people being vocal about what the big companies should focus on. Thank you for your very thought out comment!

The game does give a hint for the blue gem but very few players actually notice it. if you collect all the boxes and replay the level the crate counter at the end will be like this: boxes you collected/0 in my opinion the only parts where Crash 2 misses the mark a bit is on the backagainst the camera to get the gems on a few levels, the infamous cold hard crash and the purple gem route being basically useless since you get the gem at the start and can keep it even if you die. still my favorite Crash game to this day
