@@svivlo Bait finesse (BFS) technology continues to advance quite quickly. However, at this point most competitive BFS reels can effectively cast lures that are about 1.5-3 grams. With the right line and rod, a good BFS reel can cast a 2 gram lure well over 10 meters. It’s a quickly growing niche market, and I would be interested to see if Castguard technology would one day be able to work in a BFS reel.

@@PacSalt_TeachMetoFish Thanks for the quick answer. We have engineered CastGuard to handle any lure weight, but made some restrictions in the first generation due to time constraints. We are working on a Finesse upgrade kit and initial tests show that you easily can cast over 10 meters with weights around 2-3 grams. Preliminary release date set to next year.

@@svivlo this is excellent news. I'm also a baitfinesse (BFS) angler. General weight range for finesse casting is in the 1g-8g range, expecting distances of 15m for 1g and around 25-28m for 3g. This is usually achieved by making the spool shallower to accept no more than 100m of 0.128mm of braid. This decreases empty spool weight to 10g or less. I have been watching your product range eagerly to see what you develop! Hope to see a shallow spool version finesse version of the Draken in the future. Keep up the good work!

@@canam2436 Mainly size. Draken is a smaller reel suited for fish in the size of bass, and Genesis a larger reel suited for fish in the size of pike and walleye. Both reels are versatile in terms of lure weight and can be used for many fishing styles.

Thank you and thank you for your order! We really don't care about what line you use as if the lure is pulling the line or not is all that matters to CastGuard. With that said, there's by default no tension on the spool and no need to adjust it except if you're a beginner or want to learn how to skip. Tensioning the spool knob will make CastGuard react quicker and brake more aggressively. I hope this answer your questions. Again, thank you!

If this really works as advertised it will be a tremendous help for me casting Twitchbaits (OneTen class, 1/2 oz and heavier) on Fluorocarbon mainline regardless of wind conditions with satisfying distances. One final question please….what‘s the range of lure weights to be casted with the Draken One? I don‘t expect it to be able to cast the really light stuff (BFS).

@@svivlo ok thank you for your answer..draken is look more aggresif and i will consider to get one to try..and 1 last question..if my reel is broken does the part will be easy to buy or i have to wait like shimanos and daiwas?most of the time i will push my reel to extreme condition just to see how much it can take...but most brand will have 3 to 6 month waiting time to get part except abu garcia..but now abu's is china reel so i stop using abu..for me the most important is part available and aftersales service when no question will be ask if i buy part..no waiting time for part and every part is available to be purchase..i dont care about warranty because i will use my reel the wrong way and my warranty will void and i know that

We've used down to 4g on Genesis ONE. But if you are doing Bft, flipping, skipping and pitching, we recommend Draken ONE. It's a 100-size reel. We'll add a video on this shortly.

We have tried from 5g and up. Even though 5g is a little too small for the type of reel and spool size, it still works.
