Hi Jean-frances and others, i tried the bypass, it works a short time , then i must have done something wrong, the unit has power, but no power to rhe tape player, any suggestions on problem? Capacitor? I removed the bypass still no power to the taoe player...any help appreciated!
@docjfnoel8 ай бұрын
I never had this problem. I would have a hard time to tell what is the problem but I doubt it has something to do with the bypass.

I really don’t like this. Taking a portable saw and making it unportable. These dewalt portable saws are much more expensive than the regular vertical band saws. If you want a permanent vertical bandsaw then buy a cheap one and it’ll be better quality than this and bigger cutting capacity. Stands are good for swapping back and forth. Take it off the stand when needed and use it as portable saw then put it back on when you want stand. Permanently wiring the cord ruins it.

Thanks for your comment. I really love mine with the stand 😉

Hello Jean-François! Thank you for this amazing tutorial! Will this mod work on the 414 MK2 variant as well? I would love to try it out because my loops are too short. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your comment. I don't have the MK2 model but I'm pretty sure it would work.

Wondering if it’s better to have the blade slot from the front rather than the back. Lots of disassembly to just change a blade. Mind you the pre made tables have slots in the back. Your thoughts?
@puddytat62 Жыл бұрын
I’ve watched a ton of these retrofit band saw tables and came up with a very similar design. Even the feet!! But I’ll add adjusting rubber feet underneath those flanges. Surprised you did t buy the King Canada saw. Much cheaper than Dewalt Personally think they’re all made in the same warehouse

Thanks! I had a good deal on this used Dewalt 😉

You’re also the only person to use the contour gauge. That’s unique. I’m shooting for 14x16. Think that’s decent enough for wider material

is there a easy, safe way to find the resistor to bypass on any multitracker? i’m trying to do this same thing on a yamaha mt50
@docjfnoel Жыл бұрын
I don't think that every 4 track recorder is built the same. If there's a « pitch » or « speed » knob you may find the same thing.

Nice work my friend. Couple of questions. What is the type of staple - like gun you are using to pin the photo into the frame and also the tape gun. Thanks and keep producing your videos. I just subscribed.

That is the best build I have seen for a band saw stand so far. Very good workmanship and it is shocking that he can be so productive in what appears to be the most disorganized and cluttered shop I have seen.

does it work too during recording, so that the cassette can be played in a regular Hi-Fi deck? what are the specs of the On/off switch? 12V/AC or DC or soemthin else? thanks in advance for response
@docjfnoel2 жыл бұрын
Yes it will work. The on/off swich is just a regular 12v dc switch.

great video, i have been looking to do this for ages now on my Fostex X-55 that only plays and records high speed (9.5cm a second) . Do you think the procedure would be similar, any tips? i just wish there was more videos like this as tape seems to be coming back.

I would like to build a similar table. Do you feel that the two screws holding the table on are strong enough? Seems like the full weight of the saw on those two screws is too much weight.
