Yes, there must be training, but they also have Kenyan DNA and genetics that's indigenous to their homeland! The Europeans and Americans don't. Nor is there any comparison in lifestyle that focuses on running at such a young age.

Look at the surface they are running! soft!! and they stay injuryfree!!! then why in the f**king he** are you runinning on tarmac? ok, IF you have a better time in the marathon than Haile, Kipchoge and so on, then go on, run on that fu**ing tarmac, get injured and sit on a stationary bike for 3-4-5 months, sounds fun.

Beautiful video. Loved the scenes and people and message and AWESOME music (47:07 gave me full-body goosebumps). Very well-edited and told. I watched the first part before my morning run, and the rest as I ate my post-workout meal :)

I dis agree with the notion that brother Callum McNall has suddenly produced Kenyan Olympians, and marathon World record holders. I am seeing a guy who thinks he has developed and natured talent in Kenya that is flawed. The fact is Kenyans are motivated by the need to get themselves out of poverty and the fact that east Africans are just good at long distance running and its a fact. I can see brother Callum want to credit himself with the success of East African athlets it does not hold .kenyans are just excellent at long distance marathon running .

Ummm, how about body type, lanky, skinny, no weight, lack of bone density? When I was young, I won at all sports because I couldn't even feel my weight, no weight with muscles and high energy but I knew my weakness was my lack of density in bones, I really don't drink milk. I would beat on anyone who thought they were a jock. We changed school too frequently so I had to show the kids not to mess with me, you know fighting. Boys are primitive, they won't pick a fight with you if they know you can kick their ass in sports. I was so fast, within a week the whole school knew not to challenge me in front of their girlfriends, lol. One school I showed them too late and a brat fat kid wanted to fight me. Within a month he faded away because he knew I was just too athletic and fast. I think I weighed 100 lbs almost through high school. Look at the Kenyans, no weight, stick figures, like a cheetah or greyhound.

This is ridiculous. It's 2017 and this racist propaganda shouldn't exist. kenyans are not any different then other group of people on the planet and are not more gifted at running. We are all the same, no ones better or worse, we are all the same. Flagging this racist nazi shit.

Secret = large amounts of steroids... So far in Rio Kenya has had 2 coaches sent home. The first one tried to bribe officials to tell him when the random drug tests would happen. The second one got sent home for posing as one of the athletes and taking the piss test and forging documents... It's state sponsored doping. It's that simple.

Holo Leo I would greatly improve if I took steroids. But I am not a world class runner to start with. If you take a world class runner and you give them steroids, they will always beat the world class runners who don't have steroids.

aburn life is good too but it's also the place to see corruption I never saw anybody snatching the ladies pulses in the country life or using illegal drugs so I believe country life is the best also according to my observation the children performed better academicly than the city children I guess it was because they didn't have destruction in the country.

There are great runners almost every where in the world but it's a life time thing most good runners are from the country side not city life because a burn life is very different roads are busy with vehicles country life was not many vehicles the cities are crowded too.

Running long distances races have to be something you do everyday since five years old or younger going to school wasn't school bus so 3 miles is 6 miles a day back and from and that isn't enough schools make students run around the block every time for a consequences or any time a lesson starts running never stops in my school days.

Recently 40 Kenyan runners have been found guilty of using performance enhancing drugs. Now Kenyan runners are close to being kicked out of the Olympic Games. Forget all this "blacks' are this and "whites are that. If running applied the same drug testing as cyclists we would discover most have come from the Lance Amstrong running academy.

+Satch Flight I was a 4:20 miler in high school and raced marathons during the running boom. I was one of the first in this country to race triathlons. AND Ill match my 17 year old son against any drug free one you have. BUT this does not change the fact that 40 Kenyans have been found guilty of banned drug use. If running used the same testing as cycling - Kenya would be banned from the Olympic games.

Well if you payed attention in the way that he coached you can learn a lot. Like taking it easy most of the training and learning the foundation from an early age and not burning yourself out. Or just the running culture of east Africa.

There is no secret. 1. Kenya and poor people run on natural soft surface. 2. Run with sandal or BF that strengthen foot and promote correct mid/forefoot striking. 3. They run everyday every hour with manual labor. 4. Huge pool of high performance runners. USA,UK,AUS,EU is getting too soft, fat, and overweight

Reality is that they have better glutes and hips which drive people to run with longer strides. If they are gifted genetically, then they can exploit that while they are young. If you haven't got it, it will be too late by the time you develop your glutes, hips, hamstrings and techniques. That is how this cycle of athletics gets to be a never ending one.
@dasaggyballman45
@dasaggyballman45 8 жыл бұрын
Well, to make an olympic final maybe, but there are a lot of contradictions to running and physiques that there are still great runners that dont match the "runner body type," take for example prefontaine who was very small and had one leg shorter than the other, or Usain Bolt a tall sprinter vs short justin gatlin. You can blame genetics on not being a good runner but it really comes down to training and mentality.
