I just got this same one but in white. Only 41K miles. With gap coverage and the dealers extended warranty to 150,000 miles or five years whichever comes first that covers engine transmission and electrical. I am paying 548 a month for 72 months not the best deal in the world, but it’s a nice vehicle.

Very very nice and beautiful automobile. Top of line for decades in the Oldsmobile brand. Poor man's Cadillac is what I always heard.

Extra fuel tank is aftermarket. Also, the truck does have a '72 grille, as you noted. Dash cracks and steering wheel cracks would appear before the truck was just a few years old. The 360 FE was well-known for valve guide failures, especially the '70 and '71 models. A lot of these trucks wound up with 390 V8s or a previous generation 352 V8 in them fairly early in their lives. Also, the F-100s of this vintage had only a single speed transfer case. No power steering was available out of the factory. These trucks were notorious for breaking driver's thumbs if the truck hit an obstacle while 4-wheeling and the driver had his thumbs over the steering wheel. I had one of these trucks from '71-'74. I replaced it with a '74 Chevy K10, and that was like going forward in truck technology 20 years. I didn't own a Ford pickup again until a 2012 Super Duty. Now I drive an F-150.

I love every generation of the Mercury Cougar except for the absolutely hideous ninth generation from 1999 to 2002. Nothing moves me like a Mercury! In fact my two favorite model years are the 1978 and 1988 model years. As a single person I think that a personal luxury coupe is the perfect car for me.
