I was just looking for a cover of “I don’t wanna talk about it” and it just happened to be a Filipina signing and she reminded me of Celine Dion 😂

That's because we automatically think of how the original song sounds like, and that's what we think of how the song should sounded like.

Being original is good. But imitation is a significant life and job skill. Gets your bills paid. Sure. Be original but imitation and reproduction gets you a steady job. Specially if you can do a better imitation. With respect to singing, imitation may requires perfect pitch.

Why cant we just simply say Filipinos are simply some of the best singers in the world? Not just "best karaoke singers" or "best vocal mimickers" ... Give credit where its due
@monzterMOJIАй бұрын
Mimicking still needs skills. You at least have to know how to get the right pitch and key. And yes we're not trained we just hear then do it.

I guesss yea.. we grew up listening to these songs and we tend to sing it the way we hear it
@oppetteАй бұрын
We want to hear it as it was interpreted by the original artist. Of course we have some artist who have their original songs but for me, as a Filipino, I want to hear our singer sing it as the original one (and even better). if it is mimicking to western people, i don't care. we are a karaoke people and we enjoy singing and listening to songs of other artist. and gurl we are fed up colonizers telling us things, i have trust issues 😂
@linaarjune2728Ай бұрын
