I caught this production in the West End in June. Terrible on all counts, and I left at intermission - only the second show in roughly four decades that I've walked out on (and I sat all the way through the weird DR. FAUSTUS West End production a few years back). I wasn't the only one walking. When all the lights went out in the entire theatre and we sat through the Curly/Judd scene in the shack, I didn't think the production could get any worse. Then when the lights raised a bit and we watched another actor filming the action to project it larger than life on the upstage big screen, I gave up. The actor playing Judd (the blond guy thinking about better shows) was the only bright spot.

I think this version of Oklahoma makes so much more sense, at least in my mind. I always saw Curly as an antagonist and Judd's story was always so sad to me. I love the way this production flips the story on its head, and I love the environment it creates. THIS is what a revival should be

This is my favourite show. I’ve seen it alone and with my daughter, then my grandson. About 10 times now and last Saturday 1st was Arthur and Rebekah’s last performance. 😢 I hate cast changes. Liza Sadovy has gone too. She was fabulous in Cabaret. Also the band are stunning, especially Kathryn with her violin playing. Won’t be long till I just have to go again!

When I watched it, it realy stood as its own oklahoma. The disturbing element is definitely intentional. As it unfolds the tension feels so palatable. The atmosphere of this community is ment to feel like you're constantly watched as you become apart of this constantly watching crowd. It was actually amazing but quite different from other showings of oklahoma.
