For some reason, I'm not seeing MySQL image when running docker ps. I've followed everything here step by step with my existing project, what am I doing wrong?

Maybe the port is already in use? If you start your container with "docker-compose up" (without the -d) you see a log of all your services. Is there an error message for your mysql container?

@@dr.adam.nielsen ok, I fixed it. I had to jump through many many hoops to fix it. I do have one question though: Where do we run php artisan commands? Do we run php artisan commands in the /var/www directory? I'm asking because whenever I run php artisan migrate in the /var/www directory, it's not reflecting in my database. I'm wondering if I'm doing it incorrectly. Edit: Fixed this as well, my project is good to go! I had to change the port of my local DB on MySQLWorkbench from 3306 to 3307. I can now see my database tables! I hope this is helpful to someone out there!

@@nonequivalence1864 Artisan commands can be run inside the container so use "docker-compose exec app php artisan your-command" for example. I have added an alias "artisan =docker-compose exec app php artisan"

Uhm.... no!!! Doesnt work and you havent showed us as it works after what you did... you should have put a colored background so we could see the transparent write, but you didnt

Did you select the letters and click "path->difference" after selecting text and circle? It works 100%. Good idea to demonstrate this with a colored background, maybe I record another video. Bytheway, I don't get any money for this, I make it for free - please be respectful.

@@dr.adam.nielsen I may have the same issue as Silvy, but I hope to be a little more respectful in my communications. I was trying to remove text from an image. Basically, I am trying to get a sticker made where the transparent part of the image lets the holographic background shine through. I imported an image into inkscape, typed out some white text, but I am not sure how to cut that text out of the image. Do you have any advice on how I can make this happen?

@@BrandonGraham You need to select the text and your image, as I did in 0:44 . Then you need to click on Path->Difference as shown in 1:10 - I just notices that the dialog box is not shown in the video. Unlucky, if I have time, I record it again.

I know what probably is happening to you. You need to convert everything you want to cut out in a path and go 1 by 1 so this could work.
