I just found the screenplay to this. Never saw this movie. I didn't finish the screenplay yet because I was exhausted from work and passed out midway in. This is exactly how I pictured it in my mind lol

Loved seeing this on the 4:30 Movie on WABC-TV in the 70s. It made such an impression on me as a kid, especially the philosophical ending. I recently sought it out and got it on DVD. ♥️

There was a small theater on the campus of UT Austin that showed a bunch of Hong Kong action flix one summer in the 90s. Tix were like $2. A couple buddies and I saw this and enjoyed it very much. Afterwards as we were walking home one of them said "I don't think that Toad Force Five Thousand is a real thing." I laughed so hard I actually fell over.

This scared the crap out of me at 13 years old or whenever I saw it. I didn't see it when it was in the movie theater, just on tv. Remember 07734 on a beeper said hello when read upside down.

Aside from The Player all Altman's films I've seen have been so grating. They're so smug and think they're cleverer and wittier than they really are. This trailer is a perfect example lol. Even when I saw The Player when it came out, I kept wondering what the problem with the sound was. Then I found out all of Altman's films are recorded in the same way and that it was a part of his "style".
