@@hyzmarie I came up with the lyrics for this one! Other than Suffer No Fools and Three Wishes, there are no official “translations” for any of the songs in the Splatoon series. They’re all gibberish, with no real meaning. This DOES make it a fun challenge to try and give those songs meaning. Maritime Memory is sort of a reprise of City of Color, so I sort of took that into account for some parts of the lyrics. If I ever do a cover of City of Color, parts of these lyrics would likely be reused. The “memory” part of the title suggests they’re recollecting past times. Maybe they’re reminiscing on their days before their debut as idols? Or maybe past Splatfests? The “maritime” part rolls in nicely with the part of the song with Calamari Inkantation, which I had already separately written lyrics for. It tells the story of how inkfish rose from the sea 10,000 years ago. That same motivation that brought their ancestors to land could be the same kind of motivation Callie and Marie felt when chasing their passion for music! So that was my thought process. I put a few different ideas together based on the song’s relation to other songs, as well as ideas from the title itself.

@@RetroNerdyGamer Yes! Synthesizer V and Vocaloid are both Vocal Synth software. They are essentially the same concept, and their userbases and fanbases heavily overlap.

the lyrics are mostly official actually, the only ones shes made up are the part that would loop back, and the backup voices. that changes nothing, as it still sounds heavenly, but for once we can give nintendo credit where its due.

A long time ago, on the official Japanese website for Kirby Planet Robobot, HAL shared a few clips of some earlier versions of this song that were not used in the final game. This is simply a combination of those clips. From what I remember, I think I had to use some snippets of the release version of the song to fill in some minor gaps. It's been long enough that I don't really remember exactly where.
