He's stated he works with pre written bits in one of the Evenings With. Though some of the stuff is off the top, like the q&a banter. He does tell stories over. Just not as frequent as comedians honing their jokes. Hell, some of the stories he tells end up in movies.

@@silenttbanshee I mean he tells stories about his real life on stage so you have to assume he’s told them all before. But he’s done stand up shows that weren’t even real stand up shows. He’s done college Q and A’s that just became unofficial stand up shows because they were so funny. They weren’t supposed to be anything. He just answered questions for two hours and they were so funny they kind of became known as pseudo stand up. and he carried that into his actual stand up. Most of his stand ups are just Q and A’s if not all of them. And even though he’s just repeating stories he’s told his fiends before he’s still going in not knowing what they’re going to say.

Actually, Cop Out was bought and then massaged by Smith. He didn't write it so much as spit-shine it in a hurry - no doubt to fit BW's schedule. Honestly, I've always figured that Bruce got into this by simply being too drunk to tell a bad idea from a good one. Some people drunk dial old girlfriends and boyfriends ... Willis drunk dials writer-directors and accidentally commits to projects without even having one in hand.

@@lovelymusicnow4404 Kevin Smith refuses to Actually direct people. With his own friends, he's ok, but with All other professional actors they either Walk all over him or hate him for Not directing.
