ACI learning was a fucking joke program. Death by power point. Zero hands on training. You’re better off getting some training from Udemy and taking practice exams. The only good thing about vet tec is you get some college credits, free money, and vouchers to cover your exam costs.

This is an excellent opportunity for Veterans! However, I wish VET TEC “Training Providers” were more aware of the Housing Allowance that accompanies enrollment in the program. For instance, if a trainer provides exclusively online course material, a Veteran student would only receive approximately $1000 per month. This is certainly a significant financial obstacle , especially when a coding bootcamp demands 50-60 hours of weekly training. On the other hand, if a student were to attend “in-person” training in Irvine, California, the monthly BAH would be $3700.

@ivansolares2448 great point - in the pilot, your living stipend depended on your location and whether you took the bootcamp online vs in-person. My understanding from Alicia was that the living stipend for students attending an online bootcamp was previously $1054.50 per month, which was half of the national average for in-person bootcampers. The living stipend for students attending an in-person bootcamp was based on the zip code of the school, but the national average was $2109 per month. Do you know if the new iteration of VET TEC approaches the living stipend in the same way as before? Or is this something we're waiting to see once the VA starts digging through legislation?

Martin and his colleagues who work (or worked) at CareerFoundry are true angels who really help the people all over the world - through teaching them many and very narrow and specialized fields of tech professions - in great detail (and with love!) - a big challenge to create such programs as the field of tech is changing so fast and moves forward with an incredible pace - and what a blessing to be one of the alumnus of the big CareerFoundry family. THANK YOU MARTIN & CAREER FOUNDRY Co!♥♥♥🏆🏆🏆🎓🎓🎓📈📈📈💹💹💹

Wait. LinkedIn profiles of those individuals already show that they had some experience , one of them even SE from UNivofPenn. And looks like they not alumnus , rather reachers of the camp. How come your title states that they graduates ?

Ik Joel is legit because there’s a KZbinr who documented his journey through CS a few years ago. Joel was featured in some of his videos as his fellow at CS and his story was the same. I’m not sure if it’s true for all of CS, but I’ve seen a lot of their alumni had college degrees or work experience prior to graduating the program. Im curious whether that’s one of the things they look for in candidates because it’s a lot more marketable when finding your first position. That might explain why their graduates salaries are higher than most other boot camps.

It took me almost five years post graduation to get a real web development job, and Dev Bootcamp did nothing to make that happen. Honestly, going there was so destructive to my health and growth that I have little doubt that I'd have gotten there a lot faster had I not wasted my time and money at DBC, and instead just continued learning on my own. Was very happy with Dev Bootcamp went out of business, hopefully the rest of the bootcamp industry is soon to follow.
