You’re one of a very VERY few that I’ve seen comb their locs out with care. I’m currently combing out my locs and the amount of girlies I’ve seen ripping their locs out was cringy. Your hair is beautiful and healthy, even after the locs and you have demonstrated why that is. Thanks for sharing!

Finished combing out my locks of 5 years 2 weeks ago. It took me 2 weeks, at first 2-3 hours a loc but eventually 20-45 minutes. My granny and I worked 11 hours a day for a week 😭😭 Best choice I ever made with my hair! I was rocking an Afro for two weeks and my hair is about 3-4 inches longer than it was in the locs. Yesturday got passion twists. It’s 100% worth the effort of combing and not cutting.

I’m on my last 8 locs to comb out. After 9 years. It does take about an hour per loc. I’m on week 2. Not sure what going to do after they are out but I am excited.

I am busy combing out my hair, it's been a week now but losing half the length of my loc once it's combed out😭😭😭. But you seem to retain your length

Did it tangle up?

It did but very minimal. Keeping it in a pineapple during sleep and workouts helps me keep it to a minimum

@@CintWard thank you. I want to wait until my locs are knee length before combing them out.🤣 They are already pass the mid way point of my back. And it’s been 5 yrs. pray for me.🤣

I’ve been locd for 4 yrs now will you loose a lot of hair on the take down? I’m nervous
@CintWard2 жыл бұрын
Not if you're gentle and you took good care of your hair while it was locd. You should only be losing the hair that you would normally shed if the hair was loose.
@wendylovell16942 жыл бұрын
Gorgeous hair though.

The ease with which you loose out your loc is a bit unbelievable.

Did you trim your ends before you started your loc. Also, how did you take care of your hair? How often did you retwist?
@CintWard2 жыл бұрын
My ends were pretty healthy prior to starting so I didn't need a trim. Once locd, I washed and Retwist every 3-4 weeks
@renelciamcdonald57272 жыл бұрын
hey, after combing out your locs, did your hair get thicker or thinner?
@CintWard2 жыл бұрын
My hair was the same in thickness. I did need to trim my ends though. Other than that, I had no major changes

According to this other video I was watching its better not to use water and conditioner for more coiler hair instead use lots of grease and grease/oil products
@CintWard3 жыл бұрын
Mine was pretty easy with this method but I can definitely see how using oil based products can be helpful for tighter curls/coils. Great tip!

I don’t really have experience with the instalocs however if you can find a good loctician, they should be able to let you know how you can remove them

I had mine for two and a half years too but i had to cut off 6 inches of my hair because it was split ends. It also took me a month to remove them. Started with comb coils as well and myhair was healthy before I got locs...I used lots of water and conditioner. So sad but I’m sure it’ll grow back in another year

I’m jealous of your flat twist abilities!! Too cute!! I am thankfully not experiencing too many knots... I’ve only was loc’ed for almost 9 months... I don’t know what I was doing wrong but I just couldn’t seem to properly wash my hair... I was seeing TOO much build up and it was really grossing me out!! I workout and sweat A LOT... I just really miss being able to fully wash my hair...! I really didn’t think I would have struggled SO much with that basic need! (The simple things.... that I truly took for granted!)
@CintWard3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah it seems like the smallest thing can cause build up in locs. And the worst part is you don’t really see most of it until weeks/months later 😩
@MsABee13 жыл бұрын
@@CintWard it’s so crazy... I watched SO many videos and made mental notes from others... I kept everything so low maintenance to a point that I felt I was being super lazy with them... which weirdly made me miss my loose natural hair..! But the internal disgust I started feeling looking at the buildup that I couldn’t seem to get rid of... was messing with my mind..! I am shocked that I got through so many today.. I guess I am motivated more then ever to wash my hair loose again!! (I promised myself that I won’t complain anymore about my thick & beautiful hair!!) I’m working on a video, folks are going to be shocked!!
