Please stop calling these amazing rods. Let's be clear, they are budget rods with entry level performance and entry level comfort. The reality is you can catch fish on whatever cheap rod you buy. That doesn't make it fantastic or amazing. If this is what you can afford on your budget, there's no shame in that. I fished a cabelas RLS combo for 4 years and caught hundreds of fish. That didnt make it an amazing rod. My problem isn't with people buying these rods, but rather that this video sounds like an advertisement for a company that has used fancy marketing tactics targeting new anglers to convince them these are premium rods.

I can’t agree, moonshine rods are good for people that don’t want to spend money on an actual fly rod but we got to quit sending the message that these rods will teach you to become a better caster or present to fish any better. They are like buying an ugly stick until you get better with more knowledge and you want more out of a rod

It is an actual fly rod. And price doesn’t mean performance. Kelly Galloup fished a 200$ rod kit that he said was one of his favorites he’s ever fished. Stop hating on others to justify your 1,000$ rod

@@DocHudson420There are a lot of decent rods in the price range of this Drifter at $160. The Redington path, orvis encounter, and echo ion/carbonXL are some that come to mind. But the thing is, Orvis, Redington, Echo all market these as entry level rods. But Moonshine markets their rods as if they are amazing high end premium rods. They simply aren't. Far too many new anglers see this messaging and think they are getting something much higher quality than they are. My advice to anyone looking at a moonshine rod is to look at echo. They make similarly priced rods while also being well respected by guides, fly shops, and experienced anglers.
