I have the same problem when I get busy: at office my day usually gets full of quick side non priority tasks, besides of my main projects. My solution has been something similar: my TN has a month/week insert where I keep my main projects deadlines and the important things I have to keep an eye on, as well as another insert for notes, but for those quick reminders I now carry a Maruman A7 notepad at all times when I am at work, so I don’t forget them. I had been eyeing the Ugmonk System for a while but the cost with shipping to my country is a bit expensive and tbh my current setup has been working well for me.

I’ve just ordered some grid inserts. They’re great to write on, and can either be used for creating planners or doing drawings which would probably suit your work needs. I’ve been looking at the diary menu insert too. They have a week to view diary on the left, the grid paper on the right which again could be used for notes about a job or a job sketch.
@manvstationeryАй бұрын
Yeah I’ve used the diary incert too its very useful full i found it either never got used or there was not enough space lol and ended up adding notes to a separate book

After seeing an earlier video of yours (think it was yours ) I put the plastic wallet inside the cardboard folder and put them on the last string at the back. Now the pen clip slips onto one side of the cardboard folder and holds securely, leaving the pen within the edges of the notebook and no marks on the leather notebook 😀
@manvstationeryАй бұрын
That sounds like a cool Idea :)
@OldWhistler7743Ай бұрын
I’ve just got this September Travellers notebook and I absolutely love it. Looking at more expensive ones on Amazon it’s really a great choice. If you total up the cost of accessories that come with it, it’s exceptional value. Also watching how you’ve put the plastic wallet in the back inside the cardboard sleeve has solved my thoughts on how to use those 😀 Great video and I hope you do another as this notebook ages 😀
@manvstationeryАй бұрын
Im so glad my video helped :) Ive got a few months on it now but i have been rotating into some others for testing :)
@OldWhistler7743Ай бұрын
@@manvstationery I put the pen clip onto the last cardboard sleeve at the back, goes on easily and stays firn. The pen stays within the notebook edges, and the bonus is no marks from it on the leather. It’s also clipping the sleeve closed at the top of it stopping my small ruler and post-it notes coming out 😀
@ummbruuh64332 ай бұрын
Thanks for this video I can confirm that they fit in mens jeans pockets ,front and back. Back pocket is my preferred so the thinner 46 page A6 is ideal. Field notes do not open up as nicely so even though the bullet journal is more expensive I think it's worth for the ease of writing. PS I have pocket softcover leuchttrum a6 and at 123 pages its bulky

The Lamy 2000 is a grail pen for me, although I would have purchased it with a Fiine nib.
@manvstationery2 ай бұрын
Ive been using it daily again and i feel its still a wonderful pen and the sweet spot i find is more user error. The hooded nib makes it hard to see if the pen rotates in use but once you realise its brilliant :) if you like fine for as fine as you can :)
@TheMagicalSock2 ай бұрын
I find that every fountain pen has a sweet spot - the issue with the Lamy 2000 is that it’s not easy to tell if the nib is centered on the page because most of the nib is obscured by the section. I’ve had my oldest Lamy 2000 for thirteen years, and since I got that first one, I’ve purchased three more in different nib sizes. I’ve tried lots of other pens in that time as well, and there’s just something about the ease of disassembly and utilitarian look of the 2000 that keeps me hooked.
@manvstationery2 ай бұрын
@@TheMagicalSock thanks since using the pen more I'm in agreement it's more user error than the pen. Like you say it's hard to tell if the nib is straight on the page due to the hooded nib 👍

I have one with a matching pencil. They make a nice set. I was aware that German nibs tend to write with a thicker line, so I bought a fine, and it writes like a medium. It's good for note-taking because the semi-hooded nib means it doesn't dry out quickly when uncapped.

I have it in broad. I've had it for around 10 years. It's a pen that gets some use but yeah, I fear I might lose it so I rarely take it out of the house. I fixed the sweet spot by running it through several figures of eight on several micromesh pads. Not something I would recommend doing if you are inexperienced. It's a pain to have a nibmeister tune it, if you don't have one in your city but worth it if you want to use the pen more often.

I really enjoy your videos - there tends to be difference line width between East Asian, particularly Japanese nibs in comparison to European nibs. Asian writing lends itself to needing narrower nibs because the characters are more intricate (Japanese and Chinese) than Roman alphabet. This is most noticeable in medium sized nibs - European medium nibs are broader than their Asian counterparts.

I went down the fountain-pen-friendly-printer-paper-rabbit-hole not too long ago as well. And the best fountain pen friendly printer paper that I’ve found is from Kokuyo (Kokuyo A4 KB Paper). It is a thin paper (64gsm) from Japan, but just like Tomoe River it ghosts but has no bleed-through with fountain pens. Kokuyo also makes other paper products with fountain pen friendly paper. Clairfontaine is good as well, though I would opt for 90gsm (with the Clairefontaine DCP variant) since 80gsm did have some bleed-through for me. Both of these work well in my Brothers BW laser printer but I prefer the Japanese paper since it is thinner but still handles fountain pen ink very well. Just found and subscribed to your channel btw. Really liking it so far so keep doing what you’re doing 😊.
