As someone who does onboarding for HubSpot, I will be the first to say that it isn’t the right fit for everyone and finding the right fit is vital for a business. Your point about operational support is spot on. Most businesses that I train how to set up and use this platform completely underestimate the amount of time and work it takes to set up properly. As a result, they rush through and don’t take the time to set it up the right way. So what happens? You get a mess. The crap you put in, is the crap you will get out. If you cannot invest the time and money to set it up properly and maintain it properly (with ongoing support from either hiring someone who is an expert on it or engaging with a partner agency which can do it at a lower price point) then you’ve just made a huge investment with no return on it in your future. It’s a great platform. Just not for everyone and that is okay.

The only thing keeping me from using Close is that I don’t want to really on Zapier all my life. That shit breaks all the time. How can Close not have Docusign or Calendly integrations? It’s very out of touch in that regards and basically tells us they either live in a bubble or they just don’t care. It’s sad because it is a decent program. Also their support sucks which means I would have to relay on an integrator and shell out big bucks for customization of basic functions.

"A deal is an opportunity to make a sale" I'm guessing you wouldn't create a deal for someone opting into a general lead magnet for example? But, let's say you have a form for, "Request a callback", "Request more information", the intent is quite high, I imagine you'd create a deal in that situation and you could potentially add it as a deal stage before "application submitted"?

I love where you head is at, that is exactly it. It is based off of level of intent and volume when deciding to create a deal in the pipeline. In your situation if the are “requesting more information” or “requests a call back” I would 100 percent create a deal. In your pipeline though, you may or may not have a “application” section so that may replace your application completed stage!

@@CloseDr Appreciate the confirmation, I'm just seeing the notification now for some reason. Another question that came to mind, if I remember you mentioned lead status is not the same as dead pipeline stage. Lead status is like the general relationship between with client and company. And typically a lead wouldn't move between the 5 or so lead statuses. For deal stages/pipeline stages, since you often have "call completed", "call not completed", does that mean deals can move back and forth between stages for the most part?
