I've been a Mariners fan since the 80s and I have never seen a prospect asked a question about the trade deadline. You can see easily how uncomfortable Harry Ford is with this line of questioning and immediately reveals how soar of a subject it is for him. He didn't even know when the trade deadline was. The last thing a prospect should have to worry about is what is happening at the major league level or potentially being traded from probably the only organization they have ever known and be disconnected from your teammates. It's not like a major league veteran who is used to being traded. Ryan's initial surprise to Harry's answer shows how jaded he's become with a career in the majors where most players never get to spend their entire careers with one organization. Very sad. I thought bringing up this subject to a prospect not yet at the major league level was highly inappropriate. Just my two cents!

No way Julio will end up with 30 HR's & 100 RBI's, he'll be lucky to get to 20 & 75. Also, if you remember as hot as Julio was last August, he was back to being terrible in September. The M's have got to find a way to replace at least three players on this offense. Garver, Polanco & France. If the Mariners keep rolling this same line up out, they won't even win 86 games.

To me, Matt is a legend here. He didn't win one but he got us to our first, dude was really good. I think he'll be loved here his entire life...... "We want the ball an we're gonna win". That's not verbatim but he said something like that during an OT coin toss. Seattle legend, right up there with all of them, Payton, Kemp, Griffey JR, Shrempf etc etc etc. Matt is one of those guys, we don't win our last games here very often but he at least got "us" to the last game. He was a dude, no doubt.

In 8th grade we had an assignment to write to somebody famous and me being the die hard hawks fan I was (and still am) I wrote to Matt Hasselbeck. Never heard back & then randomly, in like my junior or senior year of college, I got a hand written note back & an autograph. It was awesome. He’s always been my fav Seahawks QB. Wilson was the super bowl winning QB, but Matt was a huge part laying the groundwork for the success for the Seahawks in the 21st century. My all-time fav hawks QB; he brought that edge.

If you look at Matt's numbers last few years with Holgrem they elite numbers.. Matt had 2 flaws .. 3rd short he would always go long and he couldn't scramble.. he would pee himself of script.. .. little harsh the man couldn't lay off script.. but his reads and his throws and his tuffness was elite level

9:40- CenturyLink, which was Quest😁 A company I am still mad at because even though I was the only person on the bill, they let another person change my phone service from local to long distance (yes, that long ago😂). My phone bill went up 6xs, and I'm still pissed! Dropped them like hot lead. Glad it's changed to Lumen!

Any time you add, you’re assuming that person is going to keep hitting for the mariners…but they almost never do, which is our current problem. What is going on behind the scenes causing this? Why do they come to Seattle then forget how to hit?

When the M’s acquired Polanco, he had 18.2% strikeout rate across 832 games. He joined the M’s and had one of his worst strikeout rates in his career. The M’s have ruined good batters and the M’s are developing a bad reputation for improving veteran batters for the last 3 years (Frazier, Winker, La Stella, Pollock, Wong, Garver and Polanco). The common thread has been Jarret DeHart, the M’s Director of Hitting Strategy over the last 2.5 seasons and 7 years in M’s org in hitting strategy. Jarret DeHart was 22 yrs old when M’s hired him for hitting strategy ,now 29 yrs old and has never played professional baseball. His inexperience has to be questioned as well as his resume of work. I would trust Edgar Martinez over Jarret DeHart as a Director of Hitting strategy. Jarret had no answers for these veteran batters for the last 2.5 seasons as well as the approach to RISP. The M’s are in the top 10 worst in most categories with RISP. It is telling when 2024 All-Star Teoscar Hernandez had a parting shot at the M’s without elaborating last offseason. I have no confidence that any acquired bats will fare any better under DeHart’s umbrella.

Trevor May pitched 49 games last year for the A’s with 3.28 ERA, 21 saves and 46.2 IP. The M’s should sign him for middle innings relief. He’s available doing podcasts.
