I bought tickets to this game. Was working 2 jobs at the time but knew I would not make it because I was dog tired from working nearly 70 hours over a 5 day period. Told my friend to take someone else that night. Got home from my day job after falling asleep in the classroom I was long-term subbing in earlier in the day (I had a rare night off from my evening grocery store job which I was logging full-time hours for a while due to being understaffed and busy). Took the BEST 3 hour nap EVER, went to Outback to get takeout and got back to my apartment just in time to watch this game on TV. Believe it or not, it was worth spending the $130 in 2002 dollars to do this, considering the circumstances.

This team was all time greatest combination of high end skilled talent and grinding grit hockey and I loved watching them play.

Vlad was just entering his prime before the car accident. He would've had the chance to play with Kronwall and formed one of the scariest bluelines in hockey. The Wings probably would've won another Cup with Vlad.

I had the pleasure and honor of seeing this last game in person. It had a playoff atmosphere, and we got to see one final Octopi throw. Thanks for the memories Joe Louis Arena. We will miss you. (1979-2017)

I get game 82 was meaningless for playoffs. It was still a very very nice game that shows how far this team has come since Yzerman took over.

Are you going to post highlights of the game in Montreal? Even though we got eliminated a few minutes later, it was still a win and an amazing comeback.

Need the highlights from game 82. Despite the Washington result the last second comeback is worth celebrating

Great job by the ref being in the right spot and not being baited into blowing the whistle, we saw a similar version of this in 2017 and the Preds got screwed.

4 unanswered goals to win this baby in OT, what a comeback. Raymond was the indisputable hero of this game but hats off to JT Compher for 2 very timely goals to keep us in it. Hard fought game from the whole team let's get em again tonight boys LGRW
