The rims are 7” front and 8” rear. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the tyre sizes.

They are 15” wheels and 7” front 8” rear. I can’t remember the actual tyre size but it took me a few goes to get the stance just right. They’ll be a calculated depth/width. Sorry I can’t help more. I no longer have the car. Miss it a lot!

I had a '65 squareback, factory K code. It came with a new Ford hipo shortblock, everything else was original, as far as I knew. Bought it for $650 in 1970, i was 17!

what did you have to change and refit to get the toploader to fit? do you know how much it cost you in total?

Hi, I can’t remember exactly, but it was pretty straight forward. I put in a McLeod hydraulic clutch in at the same time and again, pretty straight forward. Lots of space to work with. Had to change the pedal set though. It was a few thousand not including the actual box. Once in, never put a foot wrong though!

A top loader fits a '65/'66 with no problems. At least they did in the 70's!

Ian Hancock Thanks. I want to do something similar to my mustang... Of course I don't have the funds yet. I have made a list of mods and it easily comes to 12k lol. Could you make a first person driving video?

the whole point to the exhaust cut outs is to have quiet exhaust when you want and loud when you want. Loud and louder is pointless. I have a 66 with cut outs and its factory quiet until I want it to roar. Your way is just moronic...

It run RHS Pro Elite heads, which have optimal positioned plugs. However, this makes getting off the peg headers impossible.

Tom, the exhaust is completely hand crafted by Roy Taylor from WP Motorsport (no longer) from the heads to the end of the pipe from Stainless Steel with 1 1/4 to 3" and then 3" all the way. The exhaust than follows two branches each side. One routes straight through and one that routes through mufflers (custom made cherry bombs www.custom-chrome.co.uk). The electric cut-outs change the routing that makes the sound when wide-open deeper, rather than straight-out harsh. So, in a nutshell, all custom. That was the only option that worked!

@ianhancock Thanks! That kinda sucks! I guess custom headers it is...
@ianhancock
@ianhancock 12 жыл бұрын
The headers are custom. No one - including RHS (Comp Cams) could tell me what headers would fit. I had the flanges laser cut and each one is separate rather than it being one flange. A pain and expensive (£1200) - but it works. Had them made in stainless so I didn't need to do it again!!
@hickorynut8
@hickorynut8 12 жыл бұрын
sounds great!. quick question. What headers are you running? I am having one heck of a time finding headers that will fit both the exhaust port and let me put in spark plugs! Thanks!
