Thank you for the video! Is there a way to also change colors of the arrows? When trending up it is "green", trending down - "red"? Besides that, since you are covering two tools in the same video it would be helpful if you could add time stamps, so user who only is interested in PowerBI can skip to that. Thank you!

Summary This context provides a tutorial on how to run a Python script directly in Tableau Prep using a CSV file as input and calling out the function name. Abstract The tutorial begins with an introduction to the process, highlighting the need for a skeleton template or input file to run the script on. The tutorial then demonstrates the process of aligning column types between the input file and Tableau Prep to avoid errors. The tutorial then moves on to showing how to connect to the Tableau Python server, turn it on, and call out the function name in the Tableau Prep environment. The tutorial concludes by showing how to run the script in Tableau Prep and display the results. Opinions The tutorial emphasizes the importance of aligning column types between the input file and Tableau Prep to avoid errors. The tutorial highlights the need to have the Tableau Python server installed and turned on before running the script. The tutorial recommends using a function name in the Tableau Prep environment to call out the script. The tutorial suggests using a CSV file as input for the script. TIMELINE beta 00:00:04 - 00:01:11 The video starts with an introduction to running a Python script in Tableau Prep, a data modeling tool. The Python script used is the same as the one shown in a previous Power BI tutorial. The Python script requires a CSV file as input, which includes column types, headers, and data. It is important to ensure that the column types in the CSV file match those in Tableau Prep to avoid errors. 00:01:12 - 00:02:28 The video demonstrates how to use Tableau Prep with the Python script. Tableau Python Server needs to be installed and turned on for the script to run. The CSV file is imported into Tableau Prep, and the function name from the Python script is called. The function name in this case is get_shot_data, which processes the data and returns the desired output. 00:02:29 - 00:03:44 The video shows how to run the Python script within Tableau Prep. The function is called, and the processing and output are displayed. The Python script can be modified, and the changes will be reflected in the output when the script is run again in Tableau Prep. 00:03:45 - 00:04:08 The video concludes by mentioning that the next tutorial will cover exporting the Python script output to Google Sheets. The video encourages viewers to like, share, subscribe, and leave comments with any questions. The tutorial series will continue with another technology tip next week. 👍

Loving the podcast Sekou. I see you got my guy Ryan Wade riding with you! What's good Bro?! Man, you are SPOT ON! Pushing past other people's opinions, as well as getting out of my own head & overcoming "imposter syndrome" was rough. But sticking with it, developing the "Grit" you speak of is a REAL thing! I met you guys at a SQLSaturday years ago when PowerBI was just ramping up. Yet, I'm just now really getting to work with it & other data analytic tools/technologies daily due to "gatekeepers" & other hindrances at my job. Definitely can identify with the struggles you speak of. Great advice! #LsUp #BlackGuysInData

Mokkup is great. I’ve tried Mirro, doing mock ups in PBI or white boarding. Its just to much work for what you you get and the results aren’t great. Mokkup visuals are spot on in relation to PBI and you can even save the color scheme and specific visuals . It’s worth it.
@SQLSekou9 ай бұрын
I agree 100%!!! The visuals are really good and close in comparison to PBI and speed to wireframe is awesome

Thank you. Highlighting that the fact table should be the source of the many to one relationships helped me create a star schema. 😂 I think some people didn't like the video because this was implied but not heavily emphasized.

Thanks for sharing, UX (point and click) is something we will work on. The reliance on typing is too much right now, but it's a step in the right direction. Also let's keep in mind that this is just the beginning of the preview. We are far from done.
