wish more players would do the same. been tanking quite a bit lately and it's not uncommon to be defending the circle and get blown up with a satchel and have several friendlies near by doing nothing. Well at least they usually get blown up too :))

Reminds me of a squad leader tactic I use - drop the OP where you want a garrison - have support player redeploy to the OT and drop the box, build garrison, pick up OT and both reploy back to the an attacking or defensive garrison.

I played HLL without a mic up until level 4. A microphone is not mandatory for this game but it is strongly recommended... if you want to win. Communications enable you and your squad to do so much more and do it efficiently. Like calling out enemies you lost an angle on but a squad mate does have a sightline to. Planning where to make an AT gun. Assigning someone to a necessary role. And speaking will always be faster than typing. Unless you have a severe stutter theres no case where typing is faster. There is such a thing as too much chatter and it is the main reason why I dislike being squad leader: It is a schizophrenia simulator. But you can mute people and adjust volumes accordingly. Its manageable. But still, plan to come with a microphone. You're handicapping yourself and your team if you don't bring one. Edit: I like and use the scroll wheel commands frequently. They are most useful when VOIP crashes. But microphone is still superior.

I had to read the title of this one twice 😲 I was happy to see this. I know you know where I stand. <soapbox time> I never liked how HLL promoted lack of learning battlefield awareness. Players are spoon fed information which replaces having to think. Instead of learning to read a map and understanding what was going on, people wait to be told either by a voice on a "radio" (because back in WW2 every soldier had a radio 😉) or by little red dots that tell you to look for a guy that ran into that house. "Which house?" "That house! On my ping!" "Where?" "Oh, you wandered off 300 meters that way so you don't even..." 🤔Anyone should be able to open the map and tell what's happening and what needs to be done. But more importantly people should be able to play a game they like and have fun even if they don't have a mic - even if they're unable to speak - even if they're deaf - even if they have health problems that make them unable to talk. This is a particularly sensitive subject for me. I have a friend who can't communicate well. It really makes you think about how much is taken for granted.🙂</soapbox> 🌳

im over level 350 command lvl X'ed all roles apart from armor and never used a mic once in this game, ever! you do not need a mic to play this game just some common sense. people are so incecure they cant sit and not shut up they always gotta be speaking or hearing somone elses voice to bring them comfort cos thay can't handle feeling or being alone. I don't use a mic cos i wanna play n hear in game sounds not a bunch of people talking crap using comms as social media with voices like nails down a chalk board. I plays games for my fun noone elses and if im ruining the game for others? if i have that much influence they should stop being pathetic and go find another game Well Played 👏😎
