I remember my mom died several years later, but I don't think it had anything to do with this song or this performance. In fact, I don't even know what the connection is or why people keep talking about it and then laughing like it's some kind of joke.

5 years later, her cover of "You Got It" for the Boys on the Side soundtrack was made into a music video. No wonder she covered it, it was this concert that inspired it.

Check out the Landreth brothers version of this song, it was written by their father ( NOT sonny Landreth but David). This is good but they do it better, a lot better.

... i noticed B. remains somewhat insulated on stage with others- not a sign of uncertainty, she's keepin' it together for herself.

I Was Always Pissed When People Referred To The Blues & Only Talked About The Boys......"Hey! What About BONNIE??" The Woman Can PLAY It & SING It - Not Only WITH The Best Of Them, She IS One Of The Best Of Them!! And She LEARNED IT From The Very Best Of Blues Musicians! I've Enjoyed Her Blues & Slide Guitar For Decades & She Was Beyond Brilliant..... By The Time She FINALLY Got All Those Grammys - I Was Thinking - "Well, Duh!! Took You Guys Long Enough To Recognize Her!!" But When I Heard Her & Stevie Ray Vaughan On The Same Stage @ Colorados' Red Rocks Just Four Years Before Stevie Was Tragically Killed, It Was Blues Heaven!!! Two Of My Favorite Artists & Their Bands I Saw Live Regularly But Seperately ....It Was A Dream Come True! Not To Be Forgotten! Stevie Entered AA & 12-Step Recovery For His Severe & Lifelong Alcohol & Drug Addictions About The Same Time I First Went To AA, As Well, In Late 1986.... He Was Fresh Out Of His Rehab Treatment When He Went Back On The Road & Joined Up With Bonnie On Tour - & I Know Exactly What She's Describing..... Stevie Was Literally REBORN!!!🙌 Clean & Sober From Lifelong Alcohol & Cocaine Addiction & Completely Committed To The Sober Life! He Didn't Even Smoke Anymore! And His Spirit & Talent WERE Indeed Unleashed Like I Had Never Heard Before His Sobriety - He & His Whole Band Were ALL Sober! But Stevie Wasn't Just Loved For His Music - He Was A Sweetheart & He Loved People So Much, He Also Loved Helping Them & Sharing His Addiction & Sobriety Story With His Audiences - It Was How He Could Best Give Back For The Second Chance @ Life He Had Been Given - I Was So Proud Of Stevie For That & I Told Him Just That When I Saw Him Last - Just Weeks Before He Tragically Left Us In Late 1990..... I Knew He Was Helping Inspire & Save Lives Of Countless People He Entertained Every Night But Never Got To Know! Thank God Bonnie Is Still Sober, Healthy & Going Strong & Touring....I Still Miss Stevie Dearly! Hear Stevie Himself Share His Very Personal Story From One Of His AA Meetings - Recorded To Be Shared & Help Whomever It Might - It Can Be Heard In It's Entirety On KZbin - Search SRV Sobriety Story..... Thanks Bonnie! Thanks, Stevie, For The Incredible & The Memories & The Heartfelt Support! Soul💞Soul, Always💗😘

45 years ago Bonnie's music made me laugh, smile, dance, and cry. Now I am in my 70s and it still does. Well the dancing has become more swaying and tapping my toe. I hope she knows how much so many people appreciate her.

Lovers Will Who'll take the only hearts they got And throw them into the fire? Who'll risk their own self respect In the name of desire? Who'll regret everything they've done And who will get the bill? Lovers will Who'll hurt each other all the time And never give it a thought? Who'll lie about where they've been And hope they never get caught? Who'll say each other's kisses No longer thrill? Lovers will (lovers will) Lovers will do almost anything For the thrill that only love can bring If love is a healer, who'll be the first ones ill? Lovers will (you know lovers will) Who'll never know what they've got Until it's just about gone? And whose arms will gather up what's left Just to carry on? And who'll stalk that little bit of love That hasn't yet been killed? Lovers will, lovers will Lovers will do almost anything For the thrill that only love can bring And if love is a healer, who'll be the first ones ill? Lovers will, lovers will, lovers will…

As a big fan since her first LP in ‘71 (and later having seen her shows underselling available tickets for so long), I rejoiced when she FINALLY broke through to a large audience in ‘89 with that huge success. BTW If you can find “Bonnie Raitt: Road Tested” in any format (It was released on Laserdisc and later on DVD.) - highly recommend.
