Match of the Day covering a 3rd tier match, will never happen again cos they are only interested in the Premher League and, in their eyes nobody else exists.

As a middle aged Town fan I thoroughly enjoyed that blast from the past. God knows how we didn't thrash Chester. Wish we played that exciting attacking style now! UTT

Kids seeing this would be shocked to know that Man City was once low down in the league pyramid and playing the likes of Chester City, Wrexham pre-Deadpool, Bury, Kidderminster Harriers, Scunthorpe, etc.

Was hesitant to watch this. I was fearing this was the match where the Chester thug, ended the footballing career of one of the best defenders Wednesday ever had, Ian Knight. Sickening tackle that shattered the lads legs into bits. Thankfully it wasn't this game (or they never showed it if it was?).

@@acustomer3518 Strange but true story, I left Sheffield and moved to Grimsby. Ended up watching some Grimsby games & poor Ian Knight was trying to make a comeback in football playing at a lower level. Got to know him a bit. i suppose our getting on so well together was that i knew what had happened to him whilst he was a Wednesday player. Sadly he was a shadow of the former player & ended up youth team coaching at Grimsby. He did well with the coaching & moved to America & had a very successful life in football over there. Lovely lad to talk to, what a shame as he literarily had the world at his feet before that tackle, then boom....his career as a pro footballer at the top was over before it had begun. Very sad.

@@acustomer3518 Funny we should be talking about this years later, having just seen both Sheffield teams get promoted!. That was a real down to the wire game yesterday at Wembley. Great for The Owls to be back in The Championship. Anyway it,s been nice talking, the very best of luck next season back in the prem, hope you can hang in there, it's very tough to bridge the gap between the two leagues. Cheers fella. Andy
