Could you imagine how long it took to render all this with the computers available back then. The two minute film is akin to the wright brothers first 12-second flight - it was meant to prove that this could be something much bigger. 9 years later, Toy Story came out and showed the world CGI was the future.

chick hicks from Cars have number 86 because this vid is the frist animation that they posted in 1986 and lightning mcqueen have number 95 because in 1995 they released " toy story "

I knew Bill Moggridge as a student at the Central School of Art and Design Holborn. We and a group of fellow students met socially, he was always good company. I left the Central,gaining employment at the Hatfield Polytechnic as a lecturer. Our paths never crossed again. RIP Peter Thompson.
