Not that easy to work on. Especially if there is an issue with the Myers pump. Parts are very expensive. Two pumps creates twice the maintenance costs to operate.

How can waterjet be precise enough for aerospace parts? Shouldn't they be using a laser cutter. What am i missing?
@OMAXCorp5 жыл бұрын
Many aerospace manufacturing use waterjet to produce parts. Typically aerospace manufacturers prefer the OMAX line since it performs repeatable precision of up to .001" (Our MicroMAX is even more precise at .0001"). Aerospace like the waterjet tool because it can cut composites, and other advanced materials like it cuts aluminum or steel without a change in fixturing or tooling. In addition, since it's a cold cutting system, there isn't material distortion. Be on the look out -- next week (8/22/2019) because we have an article coming out on how waterjet parts were used in the LightSail project on OMAX.com.

Where does one download the installer for the MAKE program? The waterjet machine at our company isn't running, and I'm 99% sure it simply needs a software re-installation. I've looked anywhere, but I can't find a download page for the setup file. Any help?

Updates to your software (downloads) can be done through your dashboard at support.omax.com - if you have not established an account, follow the steps and if you have any issues, please contact us at [email protected]

Great video. Did you adjust any of your other settings, outside the cleanup drawing window that immediately pops up? My cleanup tool does not do as good of a job as your settings. I have Version 23.0 But I do not think event the earlier versions we had did that good of a job. There would still be extra dots, it would not delete all of the duplicate lines, and would definitely not delete all of the disconnected lines. Thanks

What is the white plastic mesh under the parts that is also used to clamp the parts down. I can't find that on your website and would like to try it out.
@OMAXCorp9 жыл бұрын
+Brett Reed Underneath the parts and on top of the waterjet slats is a sheet of polypropylene honeycomb. We use this in our videos so viewers can more easily see the actual cutting process. To keep the work area quiet and clean, we recommend cutting underwater whenever possible. Thanks for the question, Brett!

any resources for how to create un-orthadox type of products, such as wrenches/tools? I work in a machine shop and most of the stuff we cut are pretty straight-forward, but there are times when I'm needing to make tools, such as pliers and/or wrenches and it takes me just soooo long to make these products...all the help I can get my hands on would be ideal! We work on a OMax 55100 Water Jet and use this sofware!

A few resources are available for you. Several tool templates can be found in the sample folder under “Useful_Tools.” In addition to those templates, Intelli-MAX Premium software users can use Parametric Shapes to aid in the creation of these tools. More information about Parametric Shapes can be found in the OMAX Interactive Reference Guide on our support site. If you have additional questions, we can be reached at [email protected] or 800-872-2300.

I was wondering if cutting above water can cause premature wear on a mixing tube?
@OMAXCorp11 жыл бұрын
Great question, Gary. Yes, cutting above or using a stand-off closer than recommended (.060” - .080“) water can cause premature erosion to the tip of the mixing tube.

Thanks for your note lexichronicle2. We agree that educational outreach is key in the future success of the manufacturing industry. In fact, OMAX has outreach programs from high school to university and trade school levels. One being our FIRST Robotics team sponsorship, in which we mentor high school students on how OMAX and MAXIEM waterjets can be used to create competition robots! If you would like more info, please e-mail [email protected]. Thanks again.

@eumirobolant I think the 55100, which is one of their larger machines, costs around $150,000. Omax has a new low-cost subsidiary, called Maxiem, which offers machines like those of Omax, only less precise. A Maxiem machine about the same size as the Omax 55100 would be the 1530, which costs only $89,000: maxiemwaterjets. com/waterjet-machines/waterjet-applications-1530. html
