The knot you're showing here is, in fact, the strangle knot which is very similar. The true constrictor knot is even stronger.

where do you get the tubing from? my only option is RC fuel line which is made from silicon material, it 5mm OD. is that okay? it seems a bit small.

@robcalam I know that!! Hahaha wouldn't be much of a diver if I didn't. I understand what you mean now, I thought you were saying that the seal goes completely around the eyes only. And if around the eyes you couldn't breath out through your nose to equalize and your eyes would be sucked out at 50 meters! Hahaha, god it was a long day yesterday! :D

what kind of cordage are you using?

if you have an spear reel how you lock the mono line at the reel , cus i see a crimp wont work and when a mono is 200 + lb is hard to make a nut on it , any info or maybe a video will help thank for all the great videos and ideas.

He's diving in lakes in Wisconsin... biggest danger there is a large snapping turtle... which are surprisingly more dangerous to fish on your stringer than you would think... could even be dangerous to you if you surprise a big one. :D

@CaptMorgasm No, it is not essential. It can be used a couple of ways. You can use it like having two "power settings" or to clip off a line to your float to it. If you clip off to it and you have it ready to fire and you pull on your float or a wave pulls the float, it may move your hand back, but it should not effect your aim as much. if you clip off towars the bass of the band by the end of the pole and the float pulls, your aim is drastically effected.

@djcesarsilva The bands are much like surgical tubing. They are a very thick latex (I believe it's a latex) rubber with a small hole through the center.

@Lambycapo This pole spear is a Ray Oder polespear. it's a 3 piece aluminum.

voodoo, you're grinding flexible rubber, dont grind on the face of the bench grinder, grind on the side, with the rubber facing slightly downward, it'll save the "Boing" and the fingers. :)

@toodals13 your muzzle has to be able to accept a pre-made band. like the OMER Cayman Muzzle. The hole closest to the barrel is the main band. The one on the end of the muzzle has a slit where the wishbone can pass through to add and remove an additional band as desired.

hey your videos are great. However i have recently purchased a already fully complete band and i am unsure on how to apply this second band on my speargun. Help would be greatly appreciated, my gun is a Undersee Phantom 1000

@SingleBreath I deleted your comment by mistake. I use SeaDrops brand defog and it works great. OMER Masks are kind of known to fog though. I don't have the issue using the techniques I talk about here.

@kau16 The mono I use I bought at Florida Freedivers when I was down there, it's blue. The black mono in the video I got from our OMER distributor. The yellow is Dyneema cord. All are 400lb test. Actually the Dyneema may be more.

This is true. I am not the most comfortable doing this on a grinder as it is. Having my hands right there next to it... I did try the screw in the end, but I had an issue. Big thing is to take your time and be very careful

Its a lot easier if you throw a screw into the end so you have a firm hold..

Opps... I deleted when I meant to reply... These shafts are not sold in the US. I only found them for sale on an Italian site if I recall. I contacted SalviMar to see where they are sold. They are working on getting a US Distributor.

The mask in the video is an OMER Alien. Riffe has an amber lens on one or more or their masks (maybe a mirrored too??). Hawaii Skindiver sell the AQA masks, some of them have amber lenses. Fit is the most important thing. If it's a $120 mask and it leaks or causes pain, it's not worth $1.
