In my mind this is a really cute story about an autistic boy falling in love with his special interest, finding social activities uninterested when he can't find common interests and then struggle to handle change ^^

Such a good actor. He didn’t even need to type correctly in order to be convincing.

Fantastic. Clear, interesting, funny, maybe couldve been a tiny bit shorter Im not sure. All these losers saying dumb shit like 'have him actually type', Im pretty sure it was an intentional joke, but it doesnt even matter in the first place, its just about communicating information, and with the context of the shots around it did that. I thought it was really excellent, communicated good ideas with simple and effective execution. If thats not storytelling I dont know what is.

Very creative and cool, however, two key parts stick out to me in particular. That copyright free “intense music” instantly brought me out of the story because I’ve heard it way too many times. Also, the crying didn’t sync up with the video. Otherwise really good cinematography and the credits were super creative. Especially a good job for 72 hours 👍

My god the acting is so bad its almost a parody - student films biggest caveat always is bad acting and TOOOO MUCH DILAOGUE 0 the character jus narrated his entire life story before they even left

i dont understand y everybody commenting about the FAKE TYPING - that adds to the stylistic bizarre tone of the whole short - I mean he falls in love with his computer - it is supposed to be OVER THE TOP - therefore I would even say that if he was typing for real it would have DIMINISHED from the stylistic tone - if u r goin for sarcasm then fake typin is perfect - if he was rele typin fo real then it wod come off as like dry n out of tone

My big overlying issue with this is the writing and the dialogue specifically. What would’ve made it a lot more intriguing and a lot more interesting is if we had no idea what The main character was looking for and it was only known that they were searching for a duffel bag. You want to show not tell a story, let the story reveal itself.

Unique concept but has its flaws. Certain things happen that might take the audience out of the story. I.e. the fake typing. Have the actor actually typing something, little things like this get noticed. Also when he is running away from the date there are too many quick cuts. Take a few more seconds before each of those cuts. There was a nice shot while he was running shown through the bushes/ trees. That was nice, it should’ve been held on that shot for a bit longer before cutting around. You have to learn which scenes need cut arounds and which ones don’t. As for the performances, they are good but can be a little hammy at times. In the date scene it starts with them already sitting, like they’ve been there, though they start a conversation like they just sat down. Should’ve had it start mid conversation, with the girl talking and the boy already distracted. Then proceed the scene as shown. For this scene they did the opposite of what I was saying before. This scene has very little cut arounds. When the girls voice fades out and the boy is basically daydreaming, we just see the boy looking around. Show what he’s looking at, random objects, while hearing low audio of the girls voice. This shows his distraction. Maybe something like having his hand on his knee, pretending to click a mouse and type. The only thing we get is one apple logo appear showing where his mindset is. Everytime the camera is shown toward the window the exposure is insane. And everytime it’s not showing the window it is fine. This is something you should’ve noticed and this whole scene would look much better. Another thing that felt cheesy was when the boy said “I have to go” then got out of his chair and proceeded to slowly walk toward the door of the restaurant. But once outside he was in a full sprint. If his intention was to get out of that restaurant quickly he should’ve sprinted out the door. After that date scene everything else is okay. And a funny ending. The overall meaning and point to this film is still unknown to me. Other than the rather forced life lesson at the end with letting go of the ones you love. Now I just want to add this though I think it was purposefully intended. The end where the boy is crying, I think this is meant to be corny and funny? Just making sure. And by far the most unique thing about this film is the credits! Well done. Overall good job guys. This was nothing more than intended just to help you guys. You learn only from your mistakes and actually making films! So great job.

This was really funny! Piece of advice, if a character is going to be doing something that doesn't need to be faked then have them do it. Like have him actually type words out on the keys and not just fake it or press random stuff. Also the actor quality could have been better but for a beginner film this was really good!
