Wow - that was very educational! So a tested tow rope (with a tested knot; some knots can cause a break, they reckon) needs to be in the kit! Thanks for sharing!
@yowiesbikeridesАй бұрын
@rond5323 Yes, definitely. Paul, the one towing me, had a fit for purpose motorcycle tow rope. His pivot pegs had sharp teeth and cut the stitching on the first attempt. I also had a strap which is a bit longer in my bag, I use a D shackles to secure it to the footpegs so it avoids any cutting from the footpeg teeth.

It's good to practice a few times with new equipment before shooting the video. It was handy having an expert behind the camera to put you straight with that minor mistake. Nice bag. I don't ride motorcycle's but I'm sure that would work very well lengthways on a bicycle rear rack.
@yowiesbikeridesАй бұрын
@tconnolly9820 Thanks mate 👍 the funny part is, I have used this bag a few times. I made a mistake when doing the video and instead of editing it out or doing it again. We thought it was better to leave it in, to show where you can go wrong and for a bit of comedy.

@johnnyofast5924 That makes sense for better fuel economy and riding at lower revs. I've since changed to a 15T/46T combo, for loading the bike up with Adventure Gear (camping etc) to keep good torque and power for off road/road use.

I don't suppose the Ural (with the sidecar) had much difficulty! I hope you guys do some analysis; seems like Yowie slowed right down in the dry; does that mean no braking at all on the slime? No accelerating in the slime either I guess? We can all keep learning stuff! ...until we're dead I guess ...We can enjoy life in the meantime. Hope any injuries heal up OK; We keep living - we keep learning! Thanks for sharing! 😮
@yowiesbikerides3 ай бұрын
@rond5323 The Ural handled everything with ease, at times I was doing 90 kilometres per hour along one of the sandy roads, and it was gaining on me 🤣 a very capable off road bike. I slowed right down to 30kph to cross through the slime, definitely no braking or acceleration through these, and have Perfect Balance on the way through. Darrel, the rider who came off his bike, was going to quick. He suffered a mild concussion, some grazing on his knee above the knee guard, as well as general aches and pains. After a week of healing, he was able to move around much better and is getting ready for the next ADV Ride.
