Brutal honesty, a genuinely strong man who empathizes with a woman in danger my prayers go out to all the She-la's out there understand it's harder to leave when you're terrified

Hard to get enough 5440. So glad I grew up with this Band playing at local clubs, venues and festivals. My daughter is now becoming a fan which gives me hope!

So thankful for satellite TV allowing me access to MuchMusic back in the day! That's probably the only reason I'm familiar with 54-40. It's surprising how much influence Canadian TV programming had on this random kid in Virginia back in the '80s. Surf Wisely.

Such a powerful song. Same lyrical vibes as "Goodbye Earl" by the Chicks. Neil's voice is just so cool.

That chorus hooks me every time. Remember hearing this on the radio as a kid, and loved it.

This song brings me back to the summer of 97 hanging out on Granville in Van getting fuckered and slacking off back when Granville was a different class of sleazy.

Saw them in Kelowna BC despite trying to convince friends to skip the event. Had no urge to see them. Man was I wrong. Turned out to be one of the best concerts I ever attended. Small venue and they had the crowd right into it. Then when the place was supposed to close down at 2am they asked the crowd if they could keep playing and kept rocking for another hour. What a great night. I was shocked at how good they were in concert.

I saw them live for $12, Canadian, a couple weeks back at the Cloverdale Rodeo. Love these guys. They are a great piece of Canada. My band covered some of their tunes back in the 90s. Their music never gets old.

Wow, this video could be so much better. It should be about spousal abuse. The lyrics are amazing, though.
