Press the start stop button 3 times ignition comes on in diagnostic mode. On my 21 plate 1 series i had to press and hold the bc button fir 10 seconds until it said perform reset? Then i pressed it until it said reset done.

Thank you. After the second try, this procedure worked. If it doesn't work the first time, the key is to open and close the door to reset the driver display. It did take what seemed like a long time holding everything before the flashing symbol appeared--stay with it! And, be sure to quickly click OK, once the "reset service reminder" message shows on screen. Do this outside with no obstructions near the car; because, if you let off the brake while in Drive or Reverse, your car may move foreward or backward a few feet before you can restore it to Park. I have seen the reset procedure detailed on online forums. That procedure is incorrect, as it instructs you to take your foot off the brake while holding down the Minus button and after putting the car in Drive, and then waiting for the flashing symbol to appear. Doing so, the car will travel forward a long ways in the ten seconds or so it takes for the flashing light to appear.

Sometimes you have to wait once you're in diag mode for all the info messages to disappear. Also if the distance and time have been exceeded by 1000 miles or 6 months the a diagnostic tool will be required to reset. Hope this helps.

If you have gone over by 1000 miles or Kms or by several weeks you will have to reset diagnostically.

Greetings from across the pond. I have a 2017 Jaguar F-Type Premium V6. I don't suppose you know if this works on my car? I tried it a few times but no dice. My guess is it's slightly different. Any advice or help is much appreciated

I am yet to do a video on an F type. As soon as one comes through the workshop I will post a video. In the mean time all I can suggest is that make sure the driver's door is open and the hood is open. Switch ignition on, engine off, then press and hold accelerator down to the floor and keep it there. As soon as the accelerator is to the floor press down on the brake pedal. Hold them both down for around 10 seconds. A message should appear saying service resetting then service reset. Let me know how you go. Thanks for watching my videos.
