So your year is almost up. Are you a man or a woman, because this gold star needs to know if she was lied to for over 5 years.

Good job picking your battles. You can't know what everyone's reaction will be. As you follow through with this process, it will get easier. When in doubt, don't use gender specific pronouns at all.

I ran across your vid series and have a question. I'm a straight, open-minded woman and have transgendered and gender queer friends. In most of your vids you talk about honesty and being authentic, but in another vid, you say you can't start hormones because you are doing a female race. now that you have changed you name and whatnot, are you still planning to do that race? It would seem hypocritical to me if you did.

+Samatha James Thanks for your comment and I am happy to clarify. The comment about the race was a little bit of a joke. I had actually decided to wait a year before starting hormones (it was still early on and I wasn't sure at the time I was even going to go that route) which happened to fall just after the race in question. I had no idea at the time that I would have come so far in my transition in such a short time. I do agree that it would be hypocritical to be out as male and participate in an all female race. It isn't until summer so I honestly hadn't thought much about it.
