Love it, I’m gonna try doing that for sure. If you want cool places near the train just come to Long Island there are tons of places around stations. If you do decide to come this way let me know I’ll steer you in the right direction. 😊😊

@@njteech depends on the town you want to go to but, one of the things people have been doing lately is taking the LIRR to an Islanders game at UBS Arena. The stop for that is UBS/Elmont but people take the train one stop away to Floral Park or two or three to Mineola, do dinner & drinks then head back on the train to UBS. In Floral Park, there’s a cool place you’d like call Swing The Tea Pot, it’s a diner type place but it’s like you stepped into a little joint in Ireland. Mineola has been on the rise, there are a lot of places there. St James is nice you can sit in the back and Brooklyn burger & Dip is new, great Roast Beef. 😊 I should mention that UBS Arena is awesome if you haven’t been it’s a must see. Post a video if you go that would so cool. 😂😂 Ride on my friend!

How lovely, scenic and breathtaking, Johnnie😮 My dad's a fisherman, and, when I was a teen he asked if I would join him on a fishing trip. I didn't know if I'd get seasick or drown, or both, so I declined. That's a regret I have 'til this day. 😔

Rode Amtrak Capitol Limited to Cumberland,MD a few guys from Jersey started there to DC and returned north with the bikes in baggage car... a Fun vid, they were full of character! LoL.

It says something about the quality of the tracks in northern New England that a bus replacement can meet or exceed the train's timetable. The good news is the VTrans is planing on the upgrades necessary to bring passenger train speeds up to 79 MPH on both the Ethan Allen & Vermonter.

And then at the WRJ bus station up the hill it has been upgraded to a sort of major convenience store/hot foods, probably within the last ten years. McDonalds also. And across the street from that was an older hotel but that was converted to something else about 25 years ago. River might be up right now from Beryl.

Ah, amtrak. Got to love it. Could be worse, it could be deutsch Bahn during the Euro Cup soccer tournament. 6 hour delays on the trains to b the matches. Love your videos Johnny. Your Drury bud Russ.

Johnnie, Sometime, when you're back in the 'Burgh I'd love to find out whatever happened to talkshow host Bruce Williams' watering hole in the old PL&E station. He used to talk about it on the show occasionally and I visited that location once decades ago but, alas, I was there at the wrong time of day. Bruce has passed on now, but I got the impression the management of his vast (?) holdings moved on to his family and I just wonder if the old place is still pumping out beers and smiles...

Good to know news is Clifton Forge’s Masonic Theater. We’ll look at their play bill. Another theater in a small town served by the Cardinal is just down (or up) the line, and you rode through that town. Staunton hosts the American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Theater. We enjoyed three nights and two plays last year in Staunton via a Cardinal round-trip. Keep up your small town train trips. Very helpful.

Just curious Johnny…If the new Chargers are diesel and electric, why not have them run all the way up to Boston instead switching out in Washington.
