Why is the wire between the fuel pump relay and the fuel pump green? Shouldn't it be Orange since it transfers power to the pump when the relay clicks on?

Can I get away with just getting new valve stem seal sand lap grinding them?

of course it would depend on how bad they are, but in many cases yes you can

@ nice. I just have a single one that takes time to leak all the way down to the base. All other ones just have small water build up at the port but it never drips downs.

That's why I pulled my cylinder heads to guarantee no metal shavings in cylinder and I did all 10 waiting to take it to machine shop to get everything checked out then put the heads back on and I know a peace of mind there's nothing in my cylinders. I used the cal van kit and it was worth the money to do all 10 while the heads are off.

Dorman makes a METAL shift interlock peice for this. Skip the OEM plastic that will probably cost far more than the Dorman full metal part #924-706. That I know fits the Pacifica but should fit this as well the Dorman site will validate whihc one is for your car. Only Chrysler would replace a cheap failing plastic part with a cheap failing plstic part. As always NICELY Done realfixesfast, very nicely done!

Yes it's easier to change/core the distributor than changing the black piece inside prone to fail with age and heat.

First of all, the engine does not "suck in" air. It creates a vacuum and atmospheric pressure pushes air in. A key difference if you want to understand internal combustion engines. Secondly, it is in inches of vacuum, not pounds. IMHO if you are going to educate proper terminology is important.
@sainath871012 күн бұрын
Hi, nice video and informative video. Where we need to connect the vacuum gauge.
@realfixesrealfast12 күн бұрын
You need to attach at a direct intake vacuum source. MAP, EGR, Brake booster, etc
@sainath871012 күн бұрын
@ okay, thanks for your immediate response. Thanks.

It’s amazing how much you can diagnose with just a vacuum gauge

If air is coming out the exhaust pipe,could the Cat still be causing back pressure?Also which spot is best to hook up to check Vacuum for Cat.Thanks
@realfixesrealfast12 күн бұрын
Yes, if air was not coming out it would be a bad problem and you wouldn't be able to keep the engine running. You need to attach at a direct intake vacuum source. MAP, EGR, Brake booster, etc

I have an 05 Honda Element. I'm about to buy an 08 Honda pilot and I looked up the o-ring for this pump and the kid that I bought for 15 bucks was 2.0 rings a black one and an orange one and I don't remember which one was the bigger one. It has the same looking pump and the exact same fitting at least it looks like it as the one in this video. My question is doesn't this pump have two o-rings as well? Isn't there an o-ring in the fitting at the top with the two bolts? I thought there was an o-ring in there as well I haven't taken anything apart so I'm just wondering why I was given two o-rings.

Thank you! I grew up in garages left to my own devices, but the men i knew were too intimidated by vacuum and emissions stuff, and so would bang on about how it was evil and it's ruining cars and it's the woke gay agenda. Then they'd pull it out and beat the guts out with sticks before reinstalling in hopes the cops don't notice. Courage of your convictions, am i right? 😂 So this is really a great find while I'm trying to fix my partner's car. The mansplanation i needed, AND actually asked for! 🎉 Great work friend, I'll save your videos for the next issue I'm positive I'll be saddled with soon.

Simple old school way to test, but too time consuming. Power probe makes attachments that are made to go in there without spreading the pins and they sell fairly inexpensive relay testers. Time is money.

The way I was taught is to energize the Control side of the Relay with the Power Probe and make sure I have “Zero” Ohms resistance on the Load side of the Relay. Just because a Relay clicks doesn’t mean it is a good Relay. Your methodology is good, but testing the way I mentioned is more scientifically accurate.

I had a 2000 Toyota Avalon with over 100k miles. Five minutes into my drive to work the car died and would not restart. I called a tow truck to take it to the local Toyota dealer. They called me an hour later and said the car started right up. They had no explanation as to the cause. I drove it for many more miles after that with no failures. Same issue?
