Great enrichment, and very good looking monitor! Does he seem to know how many pieces are in there or? Because seemingly stops when four pieces are eaten. Or are they so smart that when you say good job he knows theres no more? Anyways it was a joy to watch 😊

all monitors are technically venomous as far as i know, but only some (such as the komodo) have potent enough venom to be dangerous to humans. i suppose the hunting style and type of prey that most other monitors have had them evolve *out* of needing venom.

The tent came with a pretty nice bottom liner actually. But….after getting some tips from this dude that has 5 peach throats…. juvenile to adult….& each one is in a separate grow tent… He told me that he never uses the tent liner… because it would just be something for the lizard to possibly dig through the substrate and get underneath the liner & maybe get stuck under there. I thought that was a very good tip and I personally didn’t want to take that risk either. So I didn’t use the liner….
