Any tips / plans on how the skid base was made? I am facing the same problem - first time I moved it ~ 8' I used 6" logs to roll it but this time it has to go 50 + feet, which means a sled.... treated 4x6?
@worthaflip9244 Жыл бұрын
I'll get you the specs. But the shed used to sit on cinder blocks. They were able to get under it to bolt the skid on. They also braced up the inside first.

Where I live I'm pretty much the only one that can move these sheds. Sometimes they are pretty difficult to move but sometimes pretty easy.
@davidz1681 Жыл бұрын
The galvanized base is too weak on tuff sheds. You have to take your time and evenly distribute the weight when moving.
@kennappy2239 Жыл бұрын
Yea they use the youtubers to make it look like its great where they are .. What they don't tell you is they use heave equipment to find good stuff then they start filming very misleading and false advertising the public is not even allowed where the dig .
@krazy-chicken2752 Жыл бұрын
Stop making payments to Tuff Shed. They will move it. Guaran. They were trying to sell us a repossessed shed that was moved to a Tuff Shed retail store.

Stew... I know, I know. At least it tasted good. One hour to buy, prepare, cook and eat. And in the rain. Yep, mistakes get made. Thanks for watching.

Also, their prices for the fancy clusters in their shop is just flat out ridiculous. I have a beautiful display piece that is 9X6 snf stands 4 inches tall with 40-50 beatuiful, clear crystal all over the top of it. I paid 50$ for it. The same thing in their shop they want over 1,000$ for. Granted, I bought mine 30 years ago... but they were charging 400$ for that type of thing down there 30 years ago. You get much better deals at the Gem and Mineral shows, especially on the last day when they don't want to pack so much back up. I got beautiful 10 inch clear selenite crystal about 5 inches around for 15 $.
@brockreynolds870 Жыл бұрын
Yeah... these crystal mines are a rip off for the most part. They allow popular youtubers in to dig in the "exclusive" part of the mine, so it will look like fabulous stuff is coming out of there, but the general public is not allowed to dig in those areas. Even the youtubers can't keep what they find unless they pay a bunch of money for them. The only thing you get is a tailings pile to sift through to find bits and pieces, and if you get a fresh dumpload you might find a few thumb sized ones and some clusters that are 2 or 3 inches across. They basically just charge people 25$ a day to root around in their dumpster. All the good stuff is inside with a price tag of 1,000$ or more on it. I will give coleman credit, though... it's the ONLY mine in Arkansas that won't tear the ball joints out of your car driving up the entrance road.

Home Depot is totally silly to not move them. You got a good deal from your contractors.
@311mdub2 жыл бұрын
Why wouldn’t anyone touch the shed? Is it the weight of it or just prone to collapse?
@worthaflip92442 жыл бұрын
No idea. The general consensus was that they collapse.

@@worthaflip9244 I’m impressed that skid steer was able to move it.. for the shed to j push the skid steer like it did tells me that thing weighs a shot ton. I’ve driven many heavy machinery before and there have been times I’ve nearly taken a dump in my pants trying to move a full-size 40 yard roll off dumpster (biggest they make), carrying it siDeways with a boom lift not being able to see where I drove due to the dumpster.. I’d guess that shed has to weigh several thousand lbs.. also what’s up with the dude breaking up slabs with a sledge hammer? I’d be burned out after a section or two..props to your contractors putting in work and skill

@@worthaflip9244 We also have the same problem trying to find someone to move our shed just about 18" after it was slightly moved during Hurricane Ian. We finally found a company about 60 miles away that will do it for us. They said Tuff Sheds are difficult because they are made onsite. In the future he said to get one prebuilt and delivered whole as they are meant to be moved. Tuff Sheds are meant to be built in their permanent location so any movement voids any warranty and, even though 150+ mph winds moved it slightly, our warranty is void. It still is way cheaper to move it, level and re-anchor it versus having them come and take it apart and rebuild it. And I have bought my last Tuff Shed.
@Hajjat2 жыл бұрын
How much did they charge to move it?
@worthaflip92442 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I can't give an exact number. It was bundled with other projects like building the deck and assembling the fence. Which totalled $1500
