Thank you for your video! I have been scared to try French knots for YEARS because everyone said they are so hard. With a little practice and good instructions (like yours) it was easy to overcome my fear.

Is it essential to put the needle through again before it goes through the cotton to make the stitch? I have just pulled it through the looped cotton. You know you put the needle in at the bottom and then at the top again, I forgot the top insert.

I not quite positive I understand. But coming up through the fabric at the top is what holds the shape of the stitch before moving on to the next stitch. If you forgot that part of the stitch, I would just unpick it and do that part again. If you've stitched really far past that point, you might be able to go back when you're finished and tack it in place so it looks like the other stitches. Hope that helps a little.

Do you use a knot to start off? And when you finish how do you stop it unravelling?

I start with a knot or, if I don't want to end up with a knot, I use the "away knot" technique kzbin.info/www/bejne/ameZZHaOZ56Frsk Then when I'm finished I weave in the ends (also shown in the vid link). Hope that helps a little bit.

You're late 60 Kenmore is a far better machine than the ones built in the 70s. I've had mine for a 56 years and it still running strong
