Great vid! Could be wrong here….The screwdrivers look to be positioned there to allow an open grab or spin with your hand? They may hang out too far with a greater angle allowing them to fly out if the base is spun too quickly. Being placed closer to the centre would also help that smooth spin mechanism no?
@1chapteratatime17113 күн бұрын
I think you are probably right! It doesn't take much effort to get that base spinning! And yea, they driver would probably fling out like some sort of James Bond automotive deterrent! Thanks for watching the vid. :)

How to adjust the strap size
@1chapteratatime171Ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching the video. To adjust the strap size you need to add or remove links. To remove a link you sim[ply need to push out one of those pins, remove the link, and replace the pin. To do this effectively, you need a simple tool to help push out the pin, and again, a simple tool to push the pin back. Something like these: www.amazon.com/GLDCAPA-Removal-Sizing-Adjustment-Replacement/dp/B0CJ5H1R2N?th=1 This is also very useful www.amazon.com/BARTON-Spring-Bar-Tool-Replacement/dp/B01BERALY2 Shop around, you can probably get one a bit cheaper. Let me know how you go! Feel free to send me a message if you have any other questions!

I picked up a Pulsar P4 stainless steel dress with a green display. Outstanding condition. keeping perfect time. Do you have any idea of the value? Thanks!
@1chapteratatime1712 ай бұрын
Hey! Nice one. The P4 is great! Really unusual with the button on the top and bottom. (Is that the one you have?) I don't think I have ever seen one with a green display! That is probably super rare. I would have to do some digging! The P4 can be anywhere in price from say... $400 to $2000! USD I saw one with a Tiffany stamped glass around that number. If it is rare, and in good / original condition, then I would be thinking a price up there somewhere! Really impressive stuff. I hope you enjoy wearing it, as much as I enjoy wearing mine. They are very interesting pieces, and a bit of a conversation starter!

do you know if it's possible to change the bracelet for the rubber strap?
@1chapteratatime1716 ай бұрын
Hi Javier! Good question No I don't believe this Oakley Blade watch bracelet can be swapped with a standard rubber strap. The end links are so unusually sculpted, they are not a straight shape. Its not like any end link I've looked at before. If you feel adventurous, it may be possible to cut a rubber strap down to fit the shape. You would also need to bore out the hole for the pin. It would be in interesting project. Let me know if you have a go!!!

@@1chapteratatime171 I really like it. Design is intuitive, different enough to be noticed even by non watch aficionados. Cant give an honest review yet because I got a Tudor GMT S&G the next day after this came in and that's been dominating my wrist time.

Hello, I am interested in one of these watches, but I would need one that came with a larger band than usual, since the diameter of the wrist of my hands is somewhat out of the norm for the manufacturer.

I've wanted an LED watch since I was a kid in the 70s. I finally saw one in a local auction that looked to be in good shape but was untested. I decided to take the punge and ended up winning it and spending more than I had planned. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Parts of some of the digits light up and are continuously on. There is no response to the button. I'm desperately trying to fix it now. I might end up selling it for parts down the road if I can't fix it. Even broken ones seem to sell for hundreds of dollars on Ebay.
@1chapteratatime1712 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment. That must have been disappointing to have the watch not work. I dare say, they are impossible to fix. However, before you sell it, have a think about putting in a re-creation movement. pulsarledtime.com/ This is what I have in one of my Pulsars. It uses the same LED module, so the look is the same. I love it. It means I have my old Pulsar working again, looking the same, functions the same, just with some new electronics. Perhaps contact them for more info. I hope this helps Best regards, and good luck! jules
@RatKindler2 жыл бұрын
@@1chapteratatime171 Well, I've tried everything I can to fix it. I even replaced the quartz crystal. Made no difference. I haven't decided whether to sell it for parts to recoupe my money or go in deeper and buy a new module from that site you provided. This watch used to belong to the former mayor of Toronto Mel Lastman, so it does have a bit of local provenance. That was a factor in me buying it in the first place. Except for the fact that it doesn't work, it's in great condition. 🙂 Hmmmm...what to do.....

@1chapteratatime1712 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for your comment, I hope you liked the video. I don't think the movement is fixable any more. It was almost unfixable when it was new! However, there are some very clever people making replacement movement with the same look and functionality as the original. pulsarledtime.com/ Check them out! I have one of their movements in a Pulsar of mine, and it's great. I hope this helps Best regards jules

I saw one today at a local flea market. It's the gold filled version with original box. The guy wanted 200 dlls. I hesitated because it had a dead battery and I have no idea how easy/hard they are to fix. Kinda want to buy it now if it's still available tomorrow.😅

Hi Hector! That's really cool! I'm amazed you even saw one at a flea market. Most of the flea markets I go to only have fleas! I reckon go for it. Even if it doesn't work, start hunting around for a new movement. Check out these guys, they may be able to help. pulsarledtime.com/ Let me know if you go for it!!!

Ended up passing on the watch. I got to inspect it more and it noticed it had alot of corrosion by the back plate. It really was a shame. The watch looked like it was worn only a couple of times and just put in storage for years.

Excellent video on the Pulsar P2. I bought my P2 in 1973 for $275 which cost about the same as a Rolex Submariner. I still have it and it works perfectly. As they said in their original advertisements it was expected to last over 50 years!
