There is no doubt that this is one of the best movies i have ever seen. Although pi lost his family and survived 227 days at sea with a tiger, he became very fond of richard parker although he never saw him as his friend. I love this movie very much it is highly recommended and It's based on real events 🫶🏻❤️

I know that this is an old video but I hope by now this dude is aware the M. Night Shyamalan has re-risen. His movies are awesome, especially the thrillers. In my opinion he never fell in the first place. Cheers! 🥂

Yeah, I made this video back when his name was very much tarnished and I wasn’t hearing anything positive being said about him at the time. Having seen him start off so high is what made me curious enough to make these videos, plus the clear downward trajectory his approval was having. Now seeing that he’s made hits like The Visit and Split, and also misses like Glass and Old, M Night doesn’t really have any trajectory or occupy one extreme or the other anymore. At least for right now

I think this ending is better bc of 3 reasons: it shows that the tiger is ok and still alive, Pi's story ends even happier and also on a better note, and this ending retouches on Pi and Richard Parker's unlikely friendship, shiwing thzt maybe, the tiger didnt leave him bc he wasn't his friend, or forever, bc maybe the island was the tiger's gome, and although goodbyes are hard, maybe it was meant to be that way, and who knows? Maybe Richard Parker has a family of his own, too. Although they grew up, friendhip will last gorever, goodbye or not, because its only "see you later." Goodbyes shouldn't be forever.

Masterpiece of a movie and although I prefer the Tiger story and want that to be the true story as this ending suggests, there's something very Human about the ending they went with and the touch of Mystery and dread of the other story. Also just to point this out, there is one mistake in the entire movie and that's when the tiger eats the goat. Idk if they did it on purpose to maybe foreshadow and represent Pi's loose grip of reality after coming off of that boat. I'm sure everyone noticed that the goat was on the other side of the bars from the tiger yet somehow the tiger pulls the entire goat through them. It would be interesting to know whether that was intentional or not.

Interesting observation. Buy the way I looked at it was : tiger chewed on some of the flesh of the goat and that’s the reason why he was able to pull the rest of body to the other side of bars .

Richard Parker was real. People can debate all they want about the philosophical connections but the real ones are irrefutable. - His father owns a Zoo - Richard Parker isn't a codename, nor is it religious at all. - Banana's DO float in water - The Japanese insurance claim agents acknowledge and use Pi's story about the tiger in the official report - No dead bodies were found in the raft when he was rescued - Mamahji referred the writer to Pi Patel because of the story about being shipwrecked with Richard Parker. Insinuating that he knew who the tiger was but didn't tell the writer that it wasn't a man because the identity of the tiger and the name are one in the same. - Tigers are excellent swimmers Once you add up all the facts is quite obvious the Richard Parker existed and was with Pi Patel while being stranded. Just because he's the only one who can confirm Richard Parker was with him the whole time doesn't mean he wasn't there, to insinuate that nothing exists just because you can't see it is stupid.

I wish they had put this in the story. Of course I understand the point being made about God. But to me the tiger is real and I believe the boy's story. Why would he make up such a wild story? How, even, could he, unless he's a hell of a writer ? No, the first story he told is the truth. It's perfectly plausible - the ship was full of animals and, like the boy, some of them survived . I have no doubt of its veracity . I'm also in love with that beautiful tiger. He struck me from the first as a big kitty cat .

1:31 The fact that this scene is made to expose that Richard Parker was, indeed, Pi all along, is acceptable. But, to think that this scene means that Richard Parker was real and he was reminding Pi to say goodbye, it tears me apart. 💔

I am of the unusual opinion that the original was far superior, but for one thing... I saw the 2002 remake before seeing the Sissy Spasec (did I spell that wrong?) version. So I've always thought that *was* the original. So, by that logic, the "original" was always my favorite... Angela Bettis as Carrie was really believeable, and it just made me want to cry and give her a hug, and tell her about how she will graduate in 2 weeks, be off to college, and never have to deal with these evil little jerks again if she doesn't want to. So, the 2002 is the original for me, and I've yet to see any other version top it. Although the stage musical was really fun to watch, as well.
