Has anyone seen the so called union yard development scheme video !!! And this is the man who wanted to enhance and protect the history and architecture of these old buildings. As usual, too much emphasis on NHS. What about teaching staff (of all grades), Volunteers, Refuse & Recycling teams (whose only thanks from RBC was to have their jobs cut and workload increased), shop workers and many more. Julie Lungley and family (Club Connect) cooked and delivered meals for many throughout Farnborough and their must be many others that contributed their time and resources who should have been mentioned. Many have had to adapt to providing for others online, including me. Could do better!

It's a shame they let the Cambridge Military Hospital go, they could have turned it into one massive War Museum and bought money back into Aldershot.

The rent will be set way too high, they won't get any interest. People may well view, but when they talk figures they will simply walk away. Lights out, party over, Aldershot is finished.

Over two years on, no changes to the town. Only more housing for people who have no town that's any good, only more businesses closing, only more parking tickets issued putting people off further nipping to the sole trader for a pint of milk. Only more homeless causing grief to women and children who see how they behave. The list is endless....

We want regeneration and it’s been years and more and more shops are closing down. Stop building flats and get shops! Not some random family shops big brand shops which will actually attract people!!!

Aldershot is a dead town; a generation of inept council decisions has killed it .The army have all but gone, the gas board, BT and Exam Board that used to boost the Town are gone,and so has all else. If it was in the North you'd have Corbyn and co highlighting it as a deprived ghost town (it is-but they ignore them in the South) With Guildford near by offering all you want, why bother with Aldershot ? I like the "hundreds of independent businesses ! Yes they are, but how many Kebab shops and Private Shops do you need ?!

David Clifford, what can you do to transform Aldershot into a town that people would want to visit again? there is nothing in Aldershot! No variety of decent shops whatsoever. I have lived in aldershot for 38 years, and to be quite honest, the place was better 30 years ago. Has anybody thought about spending tax payers money on making the town into something that looks something like Guildford or Basingstoke?? A town that people would want to re-visit again?? Rather than pissing money away on improving shop frontage. Aldershot is a doomed rundown town full up with empty buildings, tramps, drug addicts and asian shops. Get the people who designed Guildford in to do it properly.. The bloody shop frontage can wait. Let the private buisnesses pay to have their own shop frontages improved, not us. Another fine example of a waste of money.. Money that could be used more constructively, get my point?

Those shop fronts look nice but when you stick a sleeping homeless man under it that’s pissed his pants it sort of loses its charm
