nice! how did you conected the spd with ead 10?
@SterlingSoundzАй бұрын
Ran the two mono channels(L & R) 1/4" out to mixer(two channels), then it's signal is included into my feed from mixer back to port 1B of the EAD10 main unit. Anything not trigger related, all runs to my mixer, then main mix out to the EAD10.

Honestly everything is so processed and compressed it is hard to tell.
@SterlingSoundzАй бұрын
No compression on it, I did forget to turn off the Hall effect for the channel though, lol. No other effects, just that little bit straight through the mixer and out.

@@FranksDrumCave Which one, the Tama piccolo or the SevenSix Drum Company 5.5"? The Tama can been seen/heard in my videos Life and Don't Forget Me Now(first two videos, so audio was still being dialed in), and the SevenSix rosewood appears in Blood on the Wall, Piece of Mind, and Inside & Out. But I'll be bringing them back in for other songs, slightly different tunings :)

Great cover. Are you using overheads with the Yamaha EAD10 for recording the cymbals?
@SterlingSoundz2 ай бұрын
Not a cover, a Decker original :) Yes, using NT5 matched overheads, SM56 on snare, and a Beta 91, along with the EAD module(main unit) and triggers on toms.
@michieltjampens49242 ай бұрын
@@SterlingSoundz Thanks for your answer. Can i ask you connect al those mics to the EAD 10? Are you using a little mixer? Or is at more complex?
@SterlingSoundz2 ай бұрын
@@michieltjampens4924 Not a problem, I'm using 6 triggers to the EAD unit, using Y splits on Port 1-2A, 3-4, and running solo cords to 5 & 6. From EAD, headphones out to mixer, so I can hear the EAD. Overheads, snare, kick, gong drum mic, and Roland SPD-S run straight to my 16 channel mixer, then main outs to EAD Port 1B(where the hoop stereo unit would plug in). I mute the EAD feed at the mixer, so that it doesn't go back into the EAD with my mixer send. Use the Auto balance of mic/trigger on the EAD to settle the mix so that it's not peaking the EAD unit itself. Hoping this makes sense, with path of signal travel?
@michieltjampens49242 ай бұрын
@@SterlingSoundz Thanks for your reply. This is perhaps a stupid question. Can you record cymbals with a mixer? I'm just a newbie.
@SterlingSoundz2 ай бұрын
@@michieltjampens4924 Yes you can, depending on your kit size, either use one mic that's centralized above your kit, or use a matched pair set of mics, and have them over either side of the kit. If doing two mics, make sure each mic is the same height and distance away from the snare, as the other, to avoid phasing of sound. You'll have to Google for more info, as I don't want to write a novel here. Keep in mind, I'm not a sound engineer, just a drummer who has picked up a few things :) If you have more questions, I believe I have my email posted under my contact.
