Marketplace is a fickle mistress :) however, you really revived that piece and gave it a whole new life ~ fantastic work!

I like the general idea here but think leg placement is a bit awkward.
@WorkWithWarren3 ай бұрын
I played around with further out but I didn’t want them right at the edge and anything closer in seemed like I had accidentally missed the chance for symmetry. I’m not in love with the look overall I just used the legs because they were free but I think I’d like to modify this a bit more at some point and change the look entirely (with new legs and placement). Stay tuned ;)

80 bucks, plus saw motor plus staples, plus power, plus stain, plus clear finish, plus other stuff equals lots and lots. Try to keep it real. I know that's difficult for umuricins, but have a go.

I’m Canadian, that’s Canadian dollars, the nails were from a friend who borrowed my gun, the stain was left over from another project that I had priced into that (feel free to view my other videos), the clear sealer is included in the $80, and when I buy a new saw I will include that in the next video. Thanks for the engagement with my content! Keep it real :)

Why pressure treated?
@WorkWithWarren4 ай бұрын
Holds up better outdoors!
@hanseich4 ай бұрын
Exactly my thought. When you cut pressure treated you’ll notice that most of the treatments didn’t penetrate all the way through the lumber. Your paint is doing all the heavy lifting. Not much is lost with PT though. Nice work overall.
@WorkWithWarren4 ай бұрын
Figured that might be the case, but since the local store didn’t have any cedar I wanted as much protection as possible, but hence why I went in with poly and a waterproofer to be safe
@huziodaddy4 ай бұрын
Why didn’t you just painted the panels you had with a pattern. Way cheaper, if a change on a budget was needed?
@WorkWithWarren4 ай бұрын
I already had the stain with the poly from a previous project and the waterproofer was only $20. If I need to change it in the future I will for sure use a paint :)

Next time you use a table saw, cut the thin strips on the outside. The force your placing laterally can bind the saw blade to the wood and cause the wood to fly out at a very high speed.
@WorkWithWarren4 ай бұрын
I hear that. If it were one cut I would, but I made over 400 cuts this way and I only had one kickback of a few inches, and as you can see I am off to the side. If I had to readjust the fence every cut it would have taken days just to cut it down.

What I didn’t have time to go over in the 1 minute video is how many issues this project caused me, and how badly I just wanted to get it out of my garage so I didn’t need to deal with it. I sold it in an hour and had dozens of people message me, so it was definitely priced too low but I just needed it gone 😂

What was the point of ripping off the skirt if you noticed it was covering up unflattering framing? Sorry I’m genuinely curious.
@WorkWithWarren11 ай бұрын
The skirt gives the chair a traditional look, when the skirt is removed it has a mid century modern profile. MCM sells for a lot more than traditional does on FB marketplace, so I thought it would be worth the risk (as I’ve sold other chairs that had some poorly finished upholstery under the skirting) to see if they’d sell even with the odd framing style. Someone reached out to me and told me they’ve sold several with this issue, so we’ll see! Follow me on insta, same handle, if you want to see what I sell them for, I’ll do an update there :)
