Nice boat! And very confident handling on your part. I prefer to come in with less speed than what I see in your video, but there's nothing wrong with that. As long as both boat and bridge remain intact 😂

You need at least 1.5kn to be in control, and depending on wind and current, you might need up to 5kn until the moment you guide into the slip.

Thanks for watching!.. yes big hallway...and our dog was definately hot in the Greek sun,... ///. but sometimes its easier to have a tighter spot as that can hold the boat in position giving time to secure the bow with mooring lines

well, that was some average low wind half docking but hey.. what floats ur boat I guess.

thanks for watching!.. Part of awesome docking is selecting the right spot ... 12knots is not much wind but it was beam on which can blow the boat off quickly before the bow is secured. I was short handed so i would be securing the stern lines and moving forward to secure the bow with the mooring line myself. So I chose a spot next to a big cat to windward which was like a wind break!.. giving me plenty of time to secure the bow.

Great video! My wife and I are planning liveaboard sailing in our retirement and Nauticat is at the top of my list along with the Bruckman 50mk2 and Kraken 50. What gets me is that some Nauticats have saunas onboard! Love our barrel sauna here in the Pacific North West of Canada so I could imagine that would be a welcome treat on chillier days at sea. Warming up again has always been an issue on the boat.

Thanks for watching!.. The Nauticat 525 is a big heavy beast of a boat! Great having the second helm station in pilot house for during the tropical squalls! Finnish built so that explains the saunas! Not really a sailor's yacht.. more like a motorsailor's yacht
