I was wondering what happens in a Gun Duel if the unit shooting last fails to shoot it's only weapon (AP7 on a tank for example) due to a roll determining that the weapon is not available?

A non-vehicular NT Gun (the ones with the white circle around the gun artwork) do not reduce Rate of Fire for CA changes. Non-vehicular NT Guns do reduce Rate of Fire by one for using IFE.

Great that you are making these introductory videos! I spotted a minor error. The Sherman in the video has a *75 gun, that is a short barreled one. It's AP TK number is 10. 14 is for the regular 75 gun.

thansk for watching the vides i like making them. The asterisk in front means to read the note about the gun. 75 short barrel is designated by the assterisk after the barrel. It erfers to the note about multiple hits i think,

This Sherman has a normal 75, not a short one. :) Apparently the front-of-caliber asterisk here is a reminder that you should be using red To Hit numbers in pre-1944 scenarios? As this is a British AFV of American make and American vehicles have that restriction. British built AFVs would use black TH numbers regardless of scenario date. Multiple Hit capability is denoted by the ROF number having a white background color.

There is a reason why scenario designers have now been "forced" to have an SSR stating "Kindling is NA". Dumbest rule ever. Not sure what the ASL creators were thinking when they created Frankenstein's monster with this one.

It is the Advancing Fire Phase, a MMC (NOT marked as Opportunity Firer) with a Baz fires at an KEU (MMC), behind a stone wall, then decides to step out and shoot. The To HIT DRM would be +2 (Firing LATW in the AdvFphase) +1 (firing at other than a AFV) +2 TEM (Stone wall) and another +2 (stepping out to avoid Backblast) Total = +7. If you are NOT using Opportunity Fire the DRM becomes +4. The only way to avoid the +4 DRM is to use Opportunity Fire and suffer the 13.81 Desperation Penalty which may result in a MC on your unit. Refer to C5.34 next to last sentence - "without Opportunity Fire, the To Hit DRM +2 applies to both conditions and is treated as +4.

Hi thanks for watching the videos. I think the +2 DRM for the wall is not applicable because the tak gets hiull down benifit. Also you only have to add +2 for the backblast if shooting from inside a building rubble etc. I am going to go back and look at the video again. So the total would only be a +2 for firing in the advance phase with the colored die having to be lower than the white die. The +2 used to be in the original Squad leader. 4:30 armor factor greater than or equal to 8. Narrator said greater than 8. Seems like this is actually +1 DRM (26 front and side/rear 8) unless the rear armor is considered to be 7. Could someone clarify?

also my understanding is that the rear would still be an 8 on the jadgtiger etc because technically the kill number goes up by one on a rear shot. The armor value does not change. I will clarify with some of my friends.
