I just picked this model up and love what you did with it. Gives us novice modelers great ideas. Do you know the scale of this model??
@starwarsmodelling6 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for the compliment. It was MPC ERTL model which is known as 1/95 scale. The company manufactured many Star Wars kits in the last but it was not common scale these days. It is smaller than Fine Molds or Bandai(1/72scale).

Nice work.. May I know the scale of this mpc and Bandai is the same 1:48?
@starwarsmodelling6 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff, the official scale of the MPC one is 1/54. Please come to my facebook to see more kits facebook.com/sammy.theman.3532. Thank you.

Maybe it's a sapling.. lol. Looks great! Almost discouraging to an amateur though. How did you do the edge wear and chipping look?
@starwarsmodelling9 жыл бұрын
Good point guys, I agree the tree is a bit small.. I better change it later. :p There are two different ways for chipping affect I use. For this kit, after base colour coat, I used a toothpick dipped in a silver acrylic paint and painted the edges only. Or, I use vaseline. So paint with silver paint first put vaseline where you want to leave the silver colour and use air brush or spray can to paint over it. When it is fully dry, wipe off the cream. I dont know whether I explain it well. I guess I better make a video clip to show how to use vaseline for weathering next..

Seems clear to me. Thanks!

There are more than one way to do chipping works. To be honest, this built was one of my early modelling life and the chipping works is not so well. I think I was using a toothpaste..
