Becuase of NS Dash9 rebuild program into AC44C6Ms about 300 left on the roster, by 2026 all the Dash9s will be history in NS.

Some beautiful countryside there. Good job on the videos. I also enjoy filming trains. I do have a few. Videos on my page from the Lake Erie line.

It really started just after 9-11-2001. Before that, you could go hang out on a bridge, out of sight ( on the tracks ), and nobody would harass you or call you in. I waited on a skewed thru- truss plate girder bridge in southwest Philadelphia that crossed 6 tracks of Amtrak's northeast corridor at a sharp 25 degree angle. I did it the way you're doing it. On a bike. I got all kinds of pictures in Philadelphia. In yards and on bridges and at public grade crossings and along rights-of'way. Oustide tunnel portals. Inside tunnels. I got around riding on my 12 speed or on Septa buses / trolleys and the Market- Frankford El. This was 30 -35 years ago, and there was no graffiti on the rolling stock. I got 35mm still pictures of CSX, Chessie System GP 30's GP 40-2, B & O GP 30's, Chesapeake & Oho, Seaboard Coast Line, Seaboard System, Western Maryland, ConRail, Delaware & Hudson, CP Rail. New York Susquehanna & Western. All on the one line, which was the CSX ex-Baltimore & Ohio Philadelphia main line. I also photgraphed ConRail's Frankford Junction Yard and environs, including the Port Richmond area and the grain elevator at Richmond & Allegheny. Always something interesting at that time ( 1990's ) at Franford Junction Yard. ConRail N6a transfer caboose and N21 bay window caboose and an American Hoist & Derrick 25-ton track crane in solid black with ConRail markings. You're not done. You just have to be inconspicuous, especially now with crime out of control.

How'd you not get stopped by the conductor? When I rode A528 to Sac, the conductor told me I couldn't film out the front due to "federal regulations".

i’ve been railfanning since about 4 and now I can’t railfan without getting looks from the crew, there is still some people that are friendly but now that there’s this bitch that derailed a train in iowa and he’s the reason he caused all of this bullshit.
@skingrad

Not a railfanner, but even I find it utterly stupid. Railfanners are aspiring conductors, engineers, and, for the most part, hardworking, honest-to-God people. What’s more, trains are still the cheapest, easiest, and fastest way to move loads of equipment and people on land. Find it hilarious how people view railfanners as a national threat, but think that mass immigration and pedos are a good thing.
